Is the pandemic over?

Hadn't been anywhere for a couple weeks, and went to the grocery store last night. Was shocked and dumbfounded that literally *nobody* but me was wearing a mask! Every other time I've been in this store, >90% had masks on.

This is in Sonoma county CA.

I truly must be the only person left who is still behaving as though there is an issue.

And to think, people are still floating the idea of more lockdowns, even amidst already bad economic news. Like that's gonna fly with most Americans.

Goobernor Noisome lifted the state-level mask mandate 6 or 7 weeks ago. When Sonoma County followed suit, :shrug: . I suspect it was around the same time, as Santa Clara County did. The ironically self-named intrepidity is clue-free, and like many/most :mental: DU-folk, cannot handle people viewing life different than (s)he does. :loser:

My mom is in a Moderna covid study. That means she's had every vaccine and booster available. She caught covid a 2nd time last week. "But at least it didn't put me in the hospital " ugh...

I caught a piece of Bill Maher last night.  He had a guy on there who was telling some truths.  He was talking about how uninformed it was to wear these sugical masks and cloth masks and how it was simply virtue signaling to be wearing those.

There was some lady sitting next to him who kept wrinkling her nose at him when he talked and was clearly not on board with what he was saying.  Both were democrats.

The guy was basically saying the left had taken it too far and had made Science some kind of God, while he believed the right hadn't taken it seriously enough.

I was shocked.

That's why I said the guy was saying 'some' truths.  I feel the left went WAY overboard, and want to again, but I don't think they'll accomplish it.  I believe the main reason for that was vote supression.

This mask bullshit has been nothing but performance art since it started and I said as much when it started.  Yes, the N95/KN95 masks will work, but if you have facial hair and/or have not had a fit test for said mask, you are not doing much unless you just got  lucky picking out your mask.

I have had no vaccine and thus no boosters and wore a mask only when I had to and I've never had covid. I do work from home and I live alone and I feel that has done more to protect me than a mask or vaccination.
