An affidavit filed Wednesday night in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. revealed that one of the Secret Service agents involved in the bribery scheme was a special agent assigned to First Lady Jill Biden’s protective detail. Another was a Uniformed Division officer at the White House.

RealClearPolitics has learned that another Secret Service special agent involved in the alleged bribery is assigned to President Biden’s detail, those agents who accompany the president nearly everywhere he goes and stand by his side during the most sensitive of discussions and private moments. A second Uniformed Division officer caught up in the bizarre scheme was assigned to protect Vice President Harris’s residence, according to sources familiar with the matter.

How can it not kill any deal with Iran? Why oh WHY is there a deal even being discussed with Iran?


But I have to admit, I wondered what the end game was for the the 2 arrested. Pretending to be US fed agents... was their hope to so compromise the Secret Service Agents that the agents would have to give up info rather than face discipline?

Also: what were these agents thinking?

With this level of corruption, we can be sure Trump is in on the scheme somehow.

I also have to assume that Trump let in some Putin plants.

The Bidens have paid special attention to selecting their Secret Service detail, which is not uncommon when new presidents move into the White House and take on the role of commander in chief. In December 2020, after his election, then-President-elect Biden made some staffing changes amid concerns from political allies that some members of the detail were too politically aligned with President Trump, the Washington Post reported at the time. Biden shuffled in a handful of senior agents whom he knew well from their time protecting him and his family four years ago when he was vice president.

Investigators alleged Arian Taherzadeh, 40, and Haider Ali, 35, posed as various officers and employees of the U.S. government, including members of federal law enforcement agencies, since February 2020 and duped actual federal officers into believing their guise. They are each charged with one count of false impersonation of a federal officer and have yet to enter a plea.

Law enforcement sources told CBS News that investigators are looking into the possibility that the two suspects have ties to Iranian intelligence including to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, an elite component of the Iranian military that conducts special operations, or the Quds force.

Prosecutors said Thursday that Ali told witnesses he had connections to the Pakistani Intelligence Service, which the government said it has not yet verified. Prosecutors also said  the government recovered his passport containing three "older" Pakistani visas and two Iranian visas from 2019 and January 2020. There was an indication on Ali's Iranian visa that he had entered that country at some point, prosecutors said, although they did not specify when.

Is it an assumption based on conjecture, or do you have hard evidence? It is obvious to me that their outlook on life has many overlaps, but they arrived at their respective world views independently. For instance, one can surmise that both have white supremacist views, but those views developed independently, without any conversation, in the wider sense of the word, between them. So it is not surprising that Trump's words and actions resonate with those of Putin. But to jump from that to the assumption that Trump was carrying out Putin's directions is a far leap without hard evidence. I would celebrate hard evidence, but no one has proffered any... to my knowledge.
