Wyoming makes it illegal for state officials to enforce “unconstitutional” federal gun laws.

On March 21 Governor Mark Gordon signed the bill into law. The bill prohibits local law enforcement from enforcing Federal gun laws with a provision for fines up to $2000, jail time or both.

Wyoming's law closely imitates Missouri's "second amendment sanctuary" law. A number of states have such laws but both Wyoming's and Missouri's stand out in that they actually fine or imprison any state or local law enforcement officer for enforcing Federal law.

Law enforcement in Missouri is complaining that it has been locked out of Federal tools that aid in pursuing criminal investigations. It's funny how 'tough on crime' Republicans are perfectly happy to prevent law enforcement from being 'tough on crime' at the behest of the Gun Lobby. Surely it must be the Gun Lobby they're listening to because the vast majority of citizens want more gun regulation, not less (last look 9% of voters wanted less regulation and almost half wanted more).

 :bs:

These "Second Amendment Sanctuaries" are pure posturing in most cases as they have no effect on day to day law enforcement. No state or local law enforcement can be forced to enforce federal law unless federal funding to pay for it is provided but they are free to use any assistance available. For the most part they are nothing but a big dick display to satisfy the Gun Culture. However the actual prevention of such enforcement is unconstitutional under the Federal Supremacy clause in Article VI paragraph 2. The DOJ is currently suing Missouri under Article VI and I assume will soon include Wyoming in the suit.

Isn't it ironic that those who swear they will defend the Constitution at all costs ignore it when it is the least bit inconvenient?

A recent poll revealed that people think 54% of Americans own guns. The real number is 32%. The power of guns and the gun vultures is far exaggerated. There is no reason for this other than $$ spent by those who make a living off death and misery. Remington recently admitted (by settling the Sandy Hook lawsuit and turning over closely guarded marketing documents) that they prey on weak young men. Mexico is suing several gun makers for marketing their guns to drug cartels in that country AND allowing mass trafficking of guns across the border. They are not invincible.

Stand up, take part and fight back. $ make a difference. Consider you Humanity card reissued.

Note to gunners:
Yes, the Remington settlement was an admission by the insurers that they could not disprove the guilt of the defendant and they were willing to pay $73 million to stop trying. Anyone with two functioning brain cells knows that. Should you choose to weigh in with the less than 2 functioning brain cell group, please proceed . . .

How are those Federal Marijuana Laws working out...

3. OK doesn't need such a law. Cops only enforce the gun laws THEY decide to enforce.

Billy Bob who everyone in the one-horse town knows can't legally own a weapon, carries one on his hip and has coffee with the local deputy down at the doughnut shop every morning.

5. The "real number is 32%"

Where are you getting this "real" number?

7. LOL

You mocked another poll you didn't like in the OP but then turn around and offer a poll you like. And even that poll says 44% of people live in a household with a gun. The fact is most people who own a gun are not going to tell an stranger calling them up on the phone that they have a gun. If someone called you and asked how much money you have laying around your house would you tell the truth?

there is no way I’m going to say “yes”.

10. LOL right back atcha.

You don't think that gun owners will admit to owning one but so many of your ilk will freely accept that millions of people use guns for defense every year because somebody asked them if they did?

If you don't like that poll, try PEW, Rand or any other reputable survey.

What other poll are you speaking of? You referring to this OP or some other?

  • (D)Ummie nightmare.
As old Fred used to say:

"Don't start none, wont be none".

But then y'all had to open the sanctuary city and state MJ legalization doors in spite of federal law, while your federal surrogates turn a blind eye to illegal immigration and illegal MJ, along with literally giving aid and comfort to illegal alien invaders.

Y'all were spoiled stupid by the race card if you thought that was going to play only in one direction.

And we're just getting started.  :evilbird:

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Confirming what I've long thought about them; they think if the government does it, it's legal.

Yep, and LIEden has continued actions the the USSC has ruled were unconstitutional. So states that have passed such laws have done so to defend their citizens against LIEden tyranny.

They are suing the wrong people. It was the Obama administration that allowed guns from the USA to be sent to Mexico.
