At this point, Putin must be terrified of being assassinated.
The Russian culture is a strange culture. You can't speak out against leadership because they will kill you. The only way to remove Putin is by gunpoint, force. People close to Putin who have power are the only ones that can stop him.
I find it hard to believe they are not powerful people in Russia who believe Putin has lost his mind and is going to destroy Russia. We have to hope someone takes action.
Many Germans tried to kill Hitler during WWII, unfortunately Hitler had nine lives.
Putin is very pro-Russian, as is a vast majority of the Russians in Russia...

1. Yes, the longer one is in power,
the more enemies one makes. I am sure Putin is aware of that and probably is more paranoid than ever.
Putin survived during the Soviet years in the KGB... doubt it's worse now than then...

2. Yep, I would think as someone who has ordered
plenty of assassinations himself, he’s been paranoid for a long time about the same thing happening to him.
