I mean, so many of these people hear a buzz word and literally don't know what the hell they're talking about, but they go along and be outraged about whatever they're told to be outraged about, and feel absolutely no shame if they are proven wrong. It gets so tiring keeping up with their talking points.

I was on another neutral site which wasn't even supposed to be political except we were talking about Ukraine and all of a sudden someone started spouting off about Hunter Biden's hard drive. Could not tell if it was a Russian troll or an idiot RW. They remember every talking point for the past 6 years and they are still outraged about them. Throw in antiabortion nutjobs screaming about killing babies and you know some people are never going to be back to "normal."

What would happen to the price of gas if Joe cuts off Russian oil.

Or better yet, just avoid conversing with him at all. Save your sanity.

It's Assholes like him, that are the reason Russian oil won't be cut off. Otherwise Assholes like him would complain and blame Joe that the cost of gas is too high. Dipshits.

17. I have a similar neighbor.

He stopped his van at my house a few years ago when I was in the yard playing with my dog. We were talking about something and he claimed that "Obamacare" increased the debt by 10 trillion dollars. When I corrected him with facts about the debt and deficits under Obama, he started screaming that I was completely brainwashed, stomped on the gas, and drove off like a madman.

Naturally, he's an ardent and dedicated viewer of Fox propaganda. He believes that ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and all mainstream news outlets are all fake news and only Fox has the real facts, and only Fox viewers are informed.

I refuse to have anything to do with him any more. He tries to talk to me sometimes, but now that I know what he is, I refuse to socialize with him. The only way to deal with people who do things that harm society is to ostracize them.

26. I noticed something strange on the weekend of the Super Bowl.

I usually shop at Kroger. With the Kroger card you can find good deals and the fuel points really help.

In the weeks preceding the Super Bowl there were empty shelves of varying food items on a random basis. Some days there was no bacon and very few eggs. Others, there was no saltine crackers at all. Then there were days with threadbare frozen items like pot pies (especially my favorite, Marie Calendar's beef pot pie) and even pizza. But, on the weekend of the Super Bowl, everything was fully stocked. Everything was there in all it's can't-wait-to-eat splendor. After the SB, back to sporadic shortages. Hmmm...

Sometimes I think corporations are exploiting this (made up?) supply chain fiasco as a means to hurt President Biden. If the economy seems bad and people can't get their favorite munchies they'll vote for a russiapublican. Price gouging under the guise of inflation all because they don't want to pay taxes. The next russiapublican president (hopefully never) will propose, and probably get, another massive tax-cut for corporations and the ultra-rich.

Maybe I'm wrong and just hyper thinking about this but, I certainly wouldn't put it past them.

So. Much. Stupid.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Let's see, gas prices have been going up literally since the day Biden took office, but these idiots think the war in Ukraine caused it?   :rotf:

Guess we saw that coming (the war, that is) ... (and the DUmmies trying to lay blame elsewhere)

Gas prices couldn't have gone up because Biden canceled 2 pipelines his first day in office, along with canceling drilling leases and not allowing any new ones.  Nope, couldn't have been that!

And they don't even realize that opening up those pipelines here and "drill, baby, drill" would ween us off of Saudi and Russian oil completely AND reduce prices dramatically.  The green freaks won't let Creepy Joe do it, he's so beholden to that part of the base.

A fun little parlor game to play with libs: Ask them how many products they own and use that contain petroleum byproducts.  From their I-phone, to computer and TV, remote control.  Hell, even charging their precious electric vehicles still requires lots of oil, not solar or wind power.  They likely have no idea that almost everything in society is dependent on oil based items.

We went from energy independence and being a net exporter of oil under President Trump to spending 70,000,000 dollars a day  on Russian oil under Brandon.

and if you poll the DUmmies, 101 out of 100 asked will say it's Trump's fault for getting us used to energy independence and low energy costs.

We have doubled our oil imported from Russian under the Biden administration.  That is a fact.  Biden put us in this position with his illiteracy of the oil and gas industry.

Since I actually work in the O&G industry I can tell you the refineries and terminals are spending money like they haven't for a few years working on infrastructure, waiting for our oil fields to open back up.

It was funny, I wish I could find it, but there was a headline out there that said "NO WE HAVE NOT DOUBLED OUR OIL IMPORTS FROM RUSSIA UNDER THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION"

But, if you actually read the article, the SECOND bullet point said "we have doubled our importation of oil from Russia" and then it went on to explain how this was only like 28% of our oil importations or some stupid thing.

That may have actually been from a 'fact checker' on IG.

Ok, I found it.  It was from Politifact;

The U.S. did not double oil imports from Russia in the last year.  That's the headline.

Second bullet point states;

The U.S. did double the amount of crude oil imported from Russia last year.  But Russia accounts for only about 3% of overall U.S. crude oil imports in 2021.

3%, 300% or 3000%

It's all dollars going to fund putin's war that we wouldn't be paying if brandon didn't destroy our energy independence that was Trump's legacy.

Wow, she lives next-door to Nancy Pelosi and didn't know it.

Pelosi backs ban on Russian oil imports

Source: The Hill

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday threw her weight behind the growing push to ban imports of oil and gas from Russia as a next-level punishment for Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

The Biden administration has already adopted a series of tough sanctions on Moscow in an effort to end Russia's invasion, which entered its eighth day on Thursday. But the U.S. exempted gas and oil, which provides a significant percentage of the fuel to some European allies and, to a lesser extent, the United States.

For that reason, the administration is treading carefully around the issue, particularly since gas prices have already spike across the country over the last year as part of a larger inflationary trend.

Pelosi said Thursday that she doesn't want gas prices to rise any more but also endorsed the ban on Russian oil in no uncertain terms.

Or is Pelosi, like Biden, just following the public opinion polls and only for sanctions after other world governments implement them?  They are doing a great job leading from the rear.
