Star Member DeeDeeNY (3,049 posts)Why are the media so sure the Dems will lose the House in November? That is a sickening thought.

themaguffin (2,954 posts) 3. Historically, it's not good for the party who has the WH; I don't think that polling has been greatbut I haven't followed it closely.
Gregory Peccary (427 posts) 5. We suckIt's just sickening to acknowledge that so many Americans would willing vote to install the complete shitshow that we all know would be the result of Reps winning the house.
Mad_Machine76 (22,121 posts) 6. Historyalthough Republicans gained in the 2002 midterms (in the midst of 9/11, ramp up to Iraq). We haven't gained seats at any point during midterms when we've held the WH since Clinton. Of course, this year might present some unique dynamics.
haele (10,700 posts) 11. It's their narrative. They're trying to write the story again...Those silly Dems, they aren't the real heros of society. Real heros are small businessmen or well off philanthropist type folks with nobless oblige - or are the plucky, hard working, simple but always suffering poor rural folk.Dems are elitist, over-educated know-it-alls who have weak, misguided social sympathies with low folks of questionable morals and are supposed to get theirs in the end. They also don't throw those great parties where people can just have fun doing whatever they want without having to worry about some SJW the next morning getting into faces because of some stupid lack of consent mistake or erratic driving afterwards.Stupid Dems.I can guarantee you that's behind a lot of attitudes from the established media and glitterati style reporting that goes on in the major media outlets when it comes to Democrats and anything to do with actual governance. Journalism has been further reduced to infotainment and story-telling over the past few decades. Real life activities to keep things running smoothly just aren't that exciting and should be shunned by reporters.Haele

ForgedCrank (396 posts) 19. They aren't sure, they are simply trying to convince YOU that it will happen. This baloney really irritates me when they do it.

Why are the media so sure the Dems will lose the House in November?
WASHINGTON — There’s a growing sense among Democrats that it’s time for a change of course at the White House — whether that means new strategy or new staffers. On the political front, President Joe Biden’s numbers aren’t getting better, his message isn’t resonating, and his party’s midterm prospects are bleak. On policy, his Build Back Better plan is dead, Covid is alive, and inflation is rising. If he doesn’t take a new tack soon, it may be impossible for him to deliver for the public, help his party in November or move an agenda in the final three years of his term, according to a dozen lawmakers, White House officials and veteran Democratic Party operatives who spoke to NBC News about their concerns.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/democrats-biden-time-make-changes-white-house-rcna16211Democrats to Biden: Time to make changes at the White HouseWhen in-the-Dems'-tank NBC says it ... Ironically, many of the people saying it to NBC, mostly anonymously, are the ones most likely to be hurt by being replaced by Rs, which might then augment the uber Prog loons' voice in the Dem Party ... and worsening their mess. One can hope, but I'm not betting any farm on that being the full outcome.
I know! Start a war. That will surely help improve the potato's poll numbers.
