In need of advice
« on: September 03, 2008, 12:08:49 PM »
Well, I just attended the first College Republicans meeting of the semester.  Aside from the President, only 5 people attended, all newbies except for me.   :o   (this was smaller than the first Young Harris College CR meeting. LOL )

As this is the current President's final semester, people are already looking to me (as a veteran of 2 other CR organizations) to take the reins next semester.  I am scared out of my mind right now, and if anyone has advice for me on how to handle this, I'd appreciate it. I'm willing to take the job, but to be honest, I'm very apprehensive at the same time, wondering if I can do a good job in control of a student organization such as this one.

(if this needs to be moved to GD, feel free to do so).

Well, if you are still thinking about chaning universities, I'd let them know that now, so they could find another candidate.  If not, why not?

I'm actually going to stick around here for now, since my room-mate has moved out (WOOT!) Next semester, I'm only taking two classes (almost done with prerequisites for my program), so I should have plenty of time to get the organization active again (or as active as it can be, after an election).   I'm already hanging up flyers for the Republican challenger to the 12th district representative John Barrow, John Stone.   :cheersmate:

Might be interesting to see how the NOW chapter here might react to a female CR president.  :uhsure:

See how they foam at the mouth at the mere mention of Sarah Palin's name?  Expect more of the same.
