kentuck (104,283 posts)https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216331698What would you envision happening if Trump was indicted??What would be the reactions?Would there be rioting in the streets?Would there be violence all over America?Would there be marches on Washington with demands to drop all charges?Or would it have an opposite effect?Would supporters see that they no longer have the cloak of protection by hiding behind the Commander-in-Grift?Would any recognize that it is no longer a game but is a very serious matter?Would they be less vocal and less reactionary if Trump was indicted?What could you see happening if the DOJ indicted him for crimes he has committed, ie, obstruction of justice, campaign fraud, extortion, destruction of government documents, incitement of an insurrection, and seditious conspiracy?What would be the reactions?
PoliticAverse (25,046 posts) 1. Big difference if it was a state (like NY) that indicted rather than the DOJ.A DOJ indictment would be a huge distraction for the Biden administration.

Depends on how Fox News portrays the indictment.If they frame it as an “innocent” man being railroaded, the deplorables will be angry and might form a march somewhere. Tucker’s opinion will drive their behavior.However, if Fox distances itself from the indictment like they have done from TFG as of late, nothing much will happen apart from some right win pols sending some bombastic tweets.

The ass does have a pretty hard core following, often defined as cult-ish by some, and I would agree that a lot of his followers match that description. Most appear anemic and harmless, having nothing more than loud mouths, but there certainly are some who would worry me.

Or they could look at it as an opportunity to round up the crazies......The Governors of the states could call up their National Guard to protect the citizenry and the FBI could round up the leaders of the violence and put them in jail. They should be prepared to handle any such uprisings.

I don't think it would just be Trump indicted.[glow=red,2,300][i][b]I think that there would be mass arrests at the same time Trump is arrested.[/b][/i][/glow]I think the DOJ and various States would coordinate an arrest(s) with all the conspirators and others suspected of trying to overthrow the government.I think that the various state agencies would also arrest scores of Militia that have been turned in by their former ‘patriotic friends’ as part of plea deals.I also think that Congress under Nancy would enforce the 14th Amendment against those members that they have proof worked to overthrow the election of Biden.I think it would be a day that we would all remember.
