President Biden's administration has taken a hard line against scrutiny of reports on Ukrainian and Russian relations, repeatedly dismissing critical lines of questioning as "Russian talking points" and "misinformation."

With how social media was quick to fall into line by banning anyone who they thought was using their platform to spread "mis/disinformation" about covid, they are now moving in the direction that if you don't agree with the emperor, then you are guilty of spreading misinformation and will probably be silenced one way or the other...  Cancelling, banning from social media, declaring you a domestic terrorist is all on the table in the land of brandon.

The old Soviet Union had a tactic just like that. They'd declare anything that undermined the authority of the regime "Counter-revolutionary Propaganda" and either have the perpetrator gulag'ed, locked in a mental institution for an undetermined period (if the perpetrator had a skills set that they wanted to retain (ask Viktor Belenko about that)) or just shoot them.
