Something I'm still coming to grips with

That 30 to 40 percent of the people in this country are loons.

No masks, no vaccines, etc., blindly following charlatans and grifters.

I saw it in my own family this year-my sister's children essentially convinced her that she didn't need a vaccine for covid, she eventually got the disease and died a few months ago, leaving me with a hole inside that will never close, partly because of the utter insanity that surrounded the situation, a death that did not have to happen.

And now we get blasted daily that Democrats will get beat in the next election. And to that I say BULLSHIT.

I'm voting. I'm telling everyone I know about the good that Democrats do.

I'll be damned if I let the loons win.

You are the loon.

Same reason normal adults shouldn't vote for democrats, you don't want the children making the important decisions.

How are loony-fringe anti-vaxxers any more loony-than loony-vax-mandaters? Same anger and hatred, same messianic fantasies ... a pox o' both their houses!
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

Sans the "messianic" part you have to choose to get it or not.

If you read my wording closely, you'll understand that I didn't not broad-broom all vax-resistant people as loony; OTOH, I think pretty much all Vax-Mandaters are loony.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

Anti-vaxxer is just another lie from the left. People that are looking at the data, or lack of data, from this experimental MRNA shot are in general not anti vax. They are anti experimental experimental MRNA shot with dubious efficacy and serious side effects.

Myself nothing says that the experimental MRNA shot is safe and effective like the FDA locking up all the experimental MRNA shot trials for 55 years. NOTHING.

Also:

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

NOTHING.

Also:

1. Since the Pfizer vaccine was approved by the FDA, months ago, it is not "experimental" in any official sense. But anyone who wants to can call it a ham-on-rye sandwich, because free speech.

2. There are two not one mRNA vaccines in use in the US, not one.

3. The J&J vaccine does not use mRNA technology.

4. The FDA is not "locking up all the experimental MRNA shot trials for 55 years". Where'd you hear that BS? The full story is that some anti-Covid-vaxxer group filed a FOIA lawsuit and won. For documents pertaining to the Pfizer vaccine tests, not the Moderna or J&J vaccine tests. There are over 300,000 documents that are or could be required by the FOIA, and they have to be vetted for relevancy and redacted for info covered by HIPAA and other laws. With the current FDA staffing and current workload, FDA proposed a rated of releasing (not "locking up") documents that means it would take 55 years to complete the vetting, redaction, and releasing of all >300,000 documents. If 300,000 documents seems unrealistic, when one realizes that some 60,000 people worldwide were recipients of the vaccine or placebo in the Pfizer Phase 3 tests, 300,000+ documents is very realistic.

5. As for "serious side effects", they are non-zero (welcome to the real world!), but are not unusual in % among medications. If you don't buy that, try looking up the side effects list for any of the meds you see advertized on TV or on websites you visit. The bottom line is that when it comes to risk, getting out of bed in the morning is as or more risky than receiving one of the Covid vaccines used in the US (and driving to work? that's insanely riskier!). Himalayanizing anthills is unpersuasive when people realize they are looking at anthills.

6. That there are truly loony anti-Covid-vaxxers is simple fact, not a "lie from the left". Examples of their looniness:

* The vaccine contains microchips;

* The Pfizer vaccine causes magnets (or ferro-metals) to be attracted to the injection site;

* The Moderna vaccine contains hydras;

* The Pfizer vaccine contains nano-particles;

* mRNA vaccines reprogram recipients' DNA;

* The blood of Covid vaccine recipients is hemoglobin-depleted black sludge (I've been mocking that claim on The Politics Forums for several months, :rotf: );

* Vaccinated people will die within 3 years (I've been mocking that claim on The Politics Forums and The Briefing Room for several months, :rotf: );

* Covid vaccines cause variants;

* Covid vaccines contain HIV;

* The Pfizer vaccine the FDA approved is not the Pfizer vaccine people have been receiving;

* Covid vaccines aren't "real" vaccines because they don't contain dead or inactivated SARS-CoV-2 viruses;

* Probably many more, but those are just off the top of my head.

Now, if you want an example of a real "lie from the left", try anti-vaxxer Robert Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr. (yes, that RFK!) and his deceptively named Children's Health Defense.

7. Before anyone asks (as has been done on another discussion site):

* Yes, I have put my arm where my keyboard is, specifically, Pfizer;

* Yes, I would do it again; the last 6 or 7 months have not changed my mind about that informed choice;

* No, I have not received a booster, because I got the antibody test, and whether from recovery or vaccine or (most likely) both, my antibody level pegged the test's top range;

* No, I do not work in the pharmaceuticals industry or anything related to medicine.

Did I miss any avenues of ad hominem response?

The basic fact that more than 98% of those who contract one variant or another survive isn't cause for me to panic or inconvenience myself in any way.
