Do Many Thousands of Us Need To Converge on St. Paul Right Now?
Advertisements [?]Old (51) and gimpy (bad knee) as I am, I'm inclined to believe that if the cops are thumping and jailing journalists and other noncombatants in St. Paul, then the only place for people of conscience is on wrong end of Twin Cities riot batons and jail cells.

Talk is cheap. Either one believes in Gandhian nonviolent civil disobedience with one's body, or one doesn't really believe in it at all.

I can be in The Cities in 6-8 hours.

Am I getting carried away here, or have things reached the point at which people of conscience need to dispense with bullshit, get to The Cities NOW and put our arses on the line?

1. I understand and sympathize with you.
At 59 I'm still hitting the streets against this administration and its war for oil. But I do think we had best spend our time getting Obama elected.

4. I could be there in about 6 hours
Except for one thing. I have a job and they expect me to be there. Imagine the nerve! I suppose if you have the time, go for it. But we really should concentrate on getting Obama and the other progressive candidates elected.

and there it is in a nutshell.

The whole world is waiting for you to make a move, but you can't.

Judging by the reponses, I don't think they need to be chartering any buses or anything.  A motorcycle will do.

It's not that they can't, with the exception of the group that's too "medicated" to move.

They WON'T, because as they're lazy socialist vermin,  they expect and are accustomed to someone, anyone, doing it for them.

They won't but support the government paying for protesters at the twin-cin.

I spit my bring it on home cup of coffee out when I read this.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Wow, the DU "people of conscience" don't sound very interested. All his responses so far sound like, "Dude, I could be there in x hours, but I don't feel like it", or, "Sorry, dude, I got this new water pipe I gotta break in". Instead of "thousands" he got responses from maybe three crackheads and a Code Pink moron.

I think he should forget this rabble, and appeal straight to the elite DU Activist Corps. DUAC! DUAC! They will speak Truth, and fill Power's inbox. DUAC! DUAC!

Those pretty little pre-written letters they use are just perfect material for a rule based filter too.  :-)
