I tried to go shopping this morning.

I wanted to go to some small local shops to help them a little bit. The first store had a sign saying that masking was required. I went in, one other customer came in unmasked, the owner asked them to please wear a mask. The guy lost his mind, began screaming about it not being legal in America to require it, he said he was going to call the cops.

I could not hold my tongue, I told him it was a free country, he could go find a disease friendly shop to shop in. He glared at me screamed "damn liberal we should shoot every one of you". I picked up my phone to call 911, told him what I was doing, he almost fell down running out of the store. I asked the owner if she wanted to call the police, she declined. She told me it was common occurrence.

These people talk a good game but they know they are wrong, they know they could get arrested, the flee like little chickens when you stand up to them. We have to start calling them out, they are clearly dangerous.
Well, this never happened, but if it did, I wonder what the store owner thought about this mask Nazi telling a potential customer to shop elsewhere?

Let me tell the lurking DUmpasses how this REALLY goes, because I have encountered this myself only a couple of times over the past 2 years playing the role of Evil MAGAT.

- Me (Evil MAGAT): Walks into store without mask
- Clerk: Sir, would you mind putting a mask on?
- Me (Evil MAGAT): No thank you
- Me (Evil MAGAT): Turn and leave store without further incident or comment

And it should be noted that in my area, there are no known retailers remaining who still mandate customer mask wearing. Most of us leave and shop elsewhere if that is the case.

I’ve had the same experience. At the height of it I was asked to leave 7 places in total. No fuss, just told to mask up or leave. I left and within minutes found alternative shopping. Guess where I shop now?

Having said that I saw some post on DU yesterday talking about how they vacationed in Florida and how bizarre it was to see people living normal lives.

I have traveled to several states during all of this but no farther north than Missouri. I’ve not witnessed what I see people describing of masses of people being masked up. Is it really like that in some areas?  Are people really running around terrified 24/7?

I'm in WA state where we have a statewide indoor mask mandate from Governor Inslee that is followed in the stores I go to.  I wear a mask but it's not because I'm scared. Heck, I'm not even vac'd. It's not a big hassle to wear a mask.  That said, I'll see a few people in the grocery stores without a mask and nobody says anything to them.  There's a couple of small businesses that I go to (like a barber shop and locksmith) where the owners/employees don't wear masks so I don't bother to wear a mask in those places.

WA state here, too, but I usually ignore it - asthma, sorry Governor Imbecile

there's no mask ordinance in Norman anymore, Toni:

on second thought, keep the mask on

Seriously libs, just off yourselves now to get this misery over with.  Went to the grocery store over lunch hour today and no one scolds anyone for wearing a mask or asking about my vaccination status.  Such are the perks in a free state.

Actually, I think liberals/DUmmies just want to live in a constant state of misery.  It is their natural habitat.

I was in the local hardware store that makes people wear masks, hey it's commiefornia, and I pull down my mask to scratch my nose and some drone comes to scold and tell me to wear my mask properly. I pulled it down coughed at him and left about $200+ of merchandise in my cart and walked away. The dickhead yells at me "Hey you forgot your cart." I turned around and said "No I didn't." and walked out.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

If no, I leave.
If yes, I stay and say thank you.
