Hate Crimes against Christians Explode across Europe, Up 70% in One Year

A worrying spike in anti-Christian hate crimes has been revealed in a new report from a Christian persecution watchdog group.

The Observatory on Intolerance against Christians in Europe (OIDAC) reported that the number of Christians being targeted with hate crimes jumped 70 percent between 2019 and 2020 in Europe.

The epicenter of such crimes was in France and Germany. The “Top 5 – Report 2019/2020,” came from two years of research and was issued to mark the International Day of Human Rights.

The report reveals “a multitude of incidents and examples of hate crimes as vandalism of churches and other threats to religious freedom in five European countries where it identified the most severe challenges for Christians.”

Crimes against Christians are up in Europe, mainly in France and Germany. Who is behind it?

According to the group, the two dynamics that threatened Christians were “Islamic oppression" and “secular intolerance."

“While secular intolerance is the driving dynamic in most of the cases and areas of life we observed, Islamic oppression mainly occurs in concentrated hotspot areas, in which Christian converts are the group that is mostly affected along with other residential Christians,” the report states.

“This phenomenon can occur in various forms, such as vandalism — antireligious motivated attacks against churches and Christian buildings — or even anti-Christian hate crimes against individuals,” said OIDAC’s director Madeleine Enzlberger.

Secularists and Islam are behind anti-Christian sentiments, like anti-Semitism.

IOW, the officials not much caring about investigating and bringing justice to antisemitic crimes aren't likely to investigate violent secularists and bring them to justice. There are probably a relative few violent secularists, but when secularists who don't care control police, those few will have effect well beyond their number. And while, per the article, Muslim anti-Christian actions are currently more focused on Muslims who converted to Christianity, secularist officials' indifference and, probably, racism to ward those affected will encourage the violent Muslims (who are also probably a small fraction of Muslims in EuroLand - peaceful people leading ordinary lives don't make headlines or get on news broadcasts) to widen the horizons of their violence.

Most of what I hear from sources like Voice of the Martyrs is that most of the violence against Christians in Europe is extremist Muslims, often labeled as "Asian" immigrants or refugees if the story gets any coverage.  Those extremists don't like anyone who isn't an extremist, so they hit Christians, non-extremist Muslims, whites, their own children and wives, ect, ect.  I know there are anarchist/antifa groups that are growing, but what I see is that they are rioting and doing group attacks.

That's just what I'm seeing though.  What news one gets today always depends on where one is looking.

Until that anti-religious bigotry is dealt with, progress against anti-Christian and anti-Jewish acts - by whomever - cannot happen.
