WASHINGTON (AP) — When Republican Rep. Bill Posey of Florida ended an Oct. 21 House floor speech with a fist pump and the phrase “Let’s go, Brandon!” it may have seemed cryptic and weird to many who were listening. But the phrase was already growing in right-wing circles, and now the seemingly upbeat sentiment -- actually a stand-in for swearing at Joe Biden -- is everywhere.

South Carolina Republican Jeff Duncan wore a “Let’s Go Brandon” face mask at the Capitol last week. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz posed with a “Let’s Go Brandon” sign at the World Series. Sen. Mitch McConnell’s press secretary retweeted a photo of the phrase on a construction sign in Virginia.

The line has become conservative code for something far more vulgar: “F—- Joe Biden.” It’s all the rage among Republicans wanting to prove their conservative credentials, a not-so-secret handshake that signals they’re in sync with the party’s base.

Americans are accustomed to their leaders being publicly jeered, and former President Donald Trump’s often-coarse language seemed to expand the boundaries of what counts as normal political speech.

But how did Republicans settle on the Brandon phrase as a G-rated substitute for its more vulgar three-word cousin?

Yeah, they seem to feel that it's perfectly ok for them to use foul language and insults. But, when the tables are turned on them and have the insults and foul language thrown back at them, they go all Karen and Chad about it.

The primitives are upset that one of them didn’t come up with this as a bouncy. It could have been something along the lines of a pilot announcing something derogatory about Trump causing the passengers to temporarily forget to stay seated, buckled, with their seats in an upright position, and to stand applauding the pilot while landing the plane as air traffic control jumped out of the bushes.

Which means they'll run it into the ground. I've decided my rejoinder (should I ever hear this childish nonsense) will be "Grow up."

I'm a little worried about that lady sports reporter who coined the phrase--that she will suffer a leftist whitelash.  I'm guessing that she is a lib and she was only trying to diffuse an embarrassing situation when she came up with the saying but she handed the decent people of this country a fun yet non vulgar way to savagely mock this disaster of a pResident we're stuck with and it has caught on like wildfire. 

If the leftist twitter mob hasn't gone after her already, I'd be surprised.

I really don't think the pilot should have made the announcement.  He should not be fired for it, logically, and the moonbats need to unwad their undies, because 1. differing opinions are allowed and you need to learn to deal with it and 2. we've heard and seen the left's virtue signalling fertilizer for years now and had to put up with it.  But I still think it's unprofessional and that was not a good setting.

IMO, it was unprofessional. But a stern, "Please don't do that again," would be the most that would be appropriate.

A bit of social media sleuthing calls the Southwest Airlines ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ narrative even further into question:

Recall that over the weekend, AP reporter Colleen Long claimed that the pilot on her Houston-to-Albuquerque flight signed off with “Let’s Go Brandon.”

But when the audio of the purported incident came out, it wasn’t clear that the pilot had said “Let’s Go Brandon” at all. In fact, it sounded to a lot of people like “Let’s Go Braves.”

Well, guess what: there’s even more to this interesting little story. Hope you’re ready for it …
