14. Thanks for all the responses. My apologies

to those who have never read Othello, or watched the movie or play.
I am being sarcastic about banning Othello.
If parents want books banned because some books may upset white kids, then can black parents chime in about books to ban? Can I say the depiction of Othello in racist terms upsets black kids?
If we are banning Toni Morrison, because it’s vulgar. Can I ban Othello because it talks about sex? I remember discussing what making the beast with two backs means. Lots of silly laughter by high school kids ensued.

I’m not sure why these people think their kids are so delicate, that they need to be shielded.
From time to time, we would watch a movie that was first a book. We watched Bonfire of the Vanities. I swear It didn’t screw me up or traumatize me.

Let educators, educate.
Yeah, DUmmy, try finding a high school that will risk teaching To Kill A Mockingbird, or Huckleberry Finn.

Hint: It isn't delicate white kids who are upset by those great American books.

Not without getting yourself branded as a domestic terrorist.

And then they'll want to ban chess, and then checkers, though they won't ban Go (Chinese game of course).

Ruh-roh Raggy! Someone's nibbling on a red pill!

There's only been one perfect human - hated by many DU-folk for being perfect. As for the rest of us, there always is something Prog activists can latch onto to try to cancel a person.

18. A professor in Michigan got in trouble for showing the 1965 Laurence Olivier version

It was deemed offense because Olivier was in blackface.
Just make an updated version with Justin Trudeau as Othello. There's no way the Proggies could get triggered over that, right?
The Democratic party is longest running racist organization in the country. Going strong for over 200 years.

Darn, that's where I was going.  Why ban Othello?  I thought they were offended by the black and white pieces.

The problem DUmmie, is that the subjects mentioned are what you consider "education", in grammar school.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
