 As an aside, I was wondering what Mitt Romney’s sons were doing now that they weren’t doing their patriotic duty to get their father the nomination? It seems to me that they are now free to enlist.

If you really waatned to be a change agent you'd go to ROTC...become an NCO and try to change the Army into the Peace Corps you envision it...instead of just standing on the sideline bitching about how the players on the field are doing things.

Sadly, AlBore the Younger and Stupider would be prevented from enlisting based on his felony charges and drug use.  Amazingly enough, the standards that the military sets up means most of DU (like 99.95 percent of them) would be prevented from joining, thankfully.

No shit. It was bad enough in the 80's watching idiots come up hot on a urine test then watching them skip out while those of us that didn't do that shit had to carry the extra weight of their gear as we got to deploy someplace.

     I think they should make an exception for Al Gore Jr. He could be a tank commander: take a new Prius with no armor, outfit it with a .50 cal gun, stick some booze and blow in the front seat, and turn him loose. He'd probably take out an entire Iranian squad before smashing into a guard rail.
