1. Good.........

Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 04:06 PM by VeraAgnes
His creepy, nasty actions must run very, very deep. How many others did he actually offend, touch, exploit over the years that he did not get caught violating? :scared:

Yea, this is a good thing for the Fat Man!

:bounce: :applause:

7. He looked at pictures. Bad bad pictures.

But theres no allegation, or any evidence what so ever, that he touched , offended or exploited anyone.

He looked at very bad pictures.

9. He is a nasty, creepy sex offender of children.

They all exploit the innocent....they touch them in many ways. To Hell with him, may he be miserable for the rest of is awful, shaming life. Their sick behavior has many levels of deceit.....He has been offending for years as they ALL do..............and will continue to do s if not locked away.

14. He asked someone to send him pictures in which children were being sexually exploited

Hopefully he will get what is coming to him in prison.

23. Justice is indeed a progressive value..

Vengeance, which is what you are talking about, is decidedly not.

Really?  Then explain all the posts on DU involving vengeance against President Bush, VP Cheney, Karl Rove, the late Tony Snow (and every other conservative who has dealt with or died of cancer) and Ronald Reagan, and every other conservative on the planet.

45. Rape is illegal and abhorrent, in prison as elsewhere

If your definition of justice involves cheering on rapists and torturers, you're no better than the child pornographers.

33. Me, I like how they do things in the horribly evil anti-justice countries of Western Europe.

Must be because I'm a Satan worshipper.

47. Exactly. Even progressives are prone to wish the worst on sick people who need help, not prison

Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 02:53 AM by Truth4Justice
but it's so in vogue in the USA to point fingers at those who hsve obvious mental or substance issues that need to be treated. Bernie was wrong for doing what he did, but so was that drugged out child molester Rush, who didn't just view children on his little "viagra trip" to the Dominican Republic. Yesiree, folks; One law for we Libs and one for impotent Rethuglycans like Limpballs.

Say what now?  Rush "didn't just view children?"  So you're accusing Rush of child molestation?  Without proof?  My, how progressive of you.  (And I mean that, too.  It's not snarky.  That is exactly what progressives do.)

46. The fuzz sat on this for 4 years. Can you say "politically motivated" bust ?

I had hoped that Bernie was no guilty but the timing makes me wonder. Q: If someone commits a crime how often do the feds wait 4 years to bust them....while Rush walks on drug charges, no less?

Rush did not "walk," moron.  He was fined $30K and had to complete a lengthy addiction program with his physician.  This was a first offense, too.  I thought you "progressives" love to go easy on first time offenders.  I guess that doesn't apply to people you hate (i.e. conservatives).  May I quote you, T4J?  "Yesiree, folks; One law for we Libs and one for impotent Rethuglycans like Limpballs."

And now we have the most idiotic post in the thread:

2. I really feel bad about this. I realize it's none of my business, but I'd like to see the pics

that were determined to be child porn. Where did he post them? Who did he send them to? I guess I have no alternative but to accept that he's guilty. He admitted that himself. It's just sooo hard to believe there he involved in porn after having listened to his nightly show & his Sunday AM "God Talk" show sunday mornings for so long.

Brilliant!

3. No, No, No, don't ask to see those pictures

You'll be joining him.

I will always wonder about this.

He hated Bush so much and spoke out so clearly against so many of the evils.

Was he dealing in child smut or was he set up??

A conspiracy behind everything bad that happens to a Bush hater.  Actually, it makes sense.  He hated bush, so he went for the child pron.  (Okay, I shouldn't have gone there.)

And now we gotta blame religion, of course:

5. I'm guessing he was done in by his Catholic upbringing.

It's got to be a very scary place inside his head, and he has to live there.

Idiot, but at least he's got a handle on what direction threads like this usually go:

39. I've raised my own kids Catholic...

It seems to have turned them into powerful skeptics and taught them well how to Question Authority. I had a similar upbringing. My mom's got God's home phone number, she'd argue with the Pope if she had the opportunity, and she expected that we'd argue with her, so I was blessed.

That Bernie Ward found himself sending child pornography and some very twisted fantasies (one hopes...) to an internet dominatrix says a lot about his very confused relationships with authority figures.

I've no doubt this thread will die a train wreck like all the others.

Now back to our regularly scheduled conspiracy theories:

12. could have easily been a set-up

and it would be well within the technical know-how of CIA and other secret gov. agencies to do this.

CIA, they can use drugs legally and not be prosecuted.

Put down the kool-aid, ngant.

Oh crap.  Too late.  It's catching:

15. it would have been easy enough

he had an AOL account. If anyone could have been easily set-up it could have been done very easily with an AOL no doubt.

I'm still baffled by all of this I must admit.

I was one of those that got up at 6:00 a.m. on Sundays to listen to "God Talk".

Needless to say, this whole thing has been a real shock to me.

Seven years is a long time for someone to go to prison for having pictures supposedly stored somewhere.

I too would like to know a lot more about the woman he was corresponding/chatting with.

I just don't know anymore. *sigh* :(

51. I have come to believe his chat-woman was a gov-plant. Thats why we dont hear about her.

AOL is loaded with people who are ingnorant about the police set-ups to catch them up there, not to mention not knowing much about the "internets".

Yes, she's a plant and Bernie Ward's a fruit.

Thank you, folks!  I'm here all week!  Enjoy the buffet!

(Okay, so I stole that joke from "Clue.")

24. So did Sirhan Sirhan.

I don't know the details but it could just mean he wanted to avoid an OJ-Michael Jackson media circus, or a local one.

Uh, yeah.  You plead guilty and go to jail and have to register as a sex offender for the REST OF YOUR LIFE over what you believe to be false charges because you want to avoid a media circus.  Riiiiiight.

Dumbass.

By the way, media circuses happen around famous people.  Bernie Ward was a no-name pervert.

58. Two reasons he could have pled quilty -

One is that HE WAS QUILTY.

Or two, longer jail sentences if he didn't

Or even reprisal of unacceptable nature - injury or murder of loved ones.

Read up about it in "Confessions of an Economic Hitman"

In Banana Republics, anyone speaking out against tyranny is done in one way or another.

"Quilty?"  Like bathroom tissue?  (The "g" isn't even anywhere near the "q," either!)

37. But, here's the thing...HE ADMITTED TO PROCURING THE PICTURES.

So, at least for me, the CIA conspiracy theory ain't gonna hunt.

But he only did so to avoid a media circus!!!  And to get a lesser sentence!!!

And now my favorite post in the thread:

That's the only missing link in the setup story.

 :lmao: :rotf: :lmao: :rotf:

I will end on that note.  The rest is just more of the same old same old.

Why do dummies know so much about "police set-ups" to catch perverts?

How many guesses do I get?

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
