Post-Palin poll puts McCain ahead of Obama 47%-45% (Zogby)
« on: August 30, 2008, 10:21:39 PM »
UTICA, New York - Republican John McCain's surprise announcement Friday of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate - some 16 hours after Democrat Barack Obama's historic speech accepting his party’s presidential nomination -  has possibly stunted any Obama convention bump, the latest Zogby Interactive flash poll of the race shows.

Overall, 52% said the selection of Palin as the GOP vice presidential nominee helps the Republican ticket, compared to 29% who said it hurt. Another 10% said it made no difference, while 10% were unsure. Among independent voters, 52% said it helps, while 26% said it would hurt. Among women, 48% said it would help, while 29% said it would hurt the GOP ticket. Among Republicans, the choice was a big hit - as 87% said it would help, and just 3% said it would hurt.

I wouldn't call that a lead.  Probably within the margin of error for a Zogby poll.

How reliable is Zogby?  Didn't he screw the pooch in '04?

I know someone was way off and I don't remember who.

I'm thinking if McCain breaks the 50% mark, things are going to get ugly.

McCain Gets $7 Million Bounce from Palin Pick

Sen. John McCain has taken in $7 million in contributions since announcing Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, a top campaign aide said today.

The money bounce may owe to Palin's appeal with conservative donors, many of whom said privately they had planned on sitting out the campaign this year. The money comes in just under the wire -- after McCain accepts the GOP nomination Thursday, he will accept public funds and no longer be permitted to raise private money for the campaign.

That will not, however, stop McCain and Palin from raising money for the Republican National Committee. In coming weeks, McCain will host four megafundraising events in major cities aimed at bolstering the accounts of the party. Palin, meanwhile, will be sent out to headline more than a dozen fundraising events for the RNC.

yes but you you probably need to factor in erasing BHO's bounce in one pretty big bite.  and where will it go when its fully sunk in ?  this it pretty interesting.
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

What bounce?  Did he actually have one?

Obama is going down. McCain's veep has more experience in her pinky finger than Obamessiah has in his whole career. I mean, c'mon! He was a "community organizer" before getting in government. What the hell is that? Oh wait... he also worked at Baskin Robbins when he was a teenager. Now if that doesn't say executive experience, I dunno what does.  ::)

This is funny, I was just talking to my folks about this strange "community organizer" title. It turns out, a community organizer is someone whose sole purpose is to agitate communities for radical redistributive programs. In other words, they are marxists.

the DUmmies seem to suggest that the Zogby Interactive poll is capable of getting 'freeped' - Though I really don't know for sure. Either way - if their guys are DUing it and ours are Freeping it Id think they cancel each other out.

Don't underestimate.  I worked at Polar Bear Ice Cream when I was sixteen.  I was Commander-in-Chief of 26 flavors (if you include sherbets).  Obama Hussein had 31.

As I recall, Zogby was accurate in 2000. He polls likely voters as opposed to registered voters. He messed up in '04, maybe because he is an arab, and is head of some national muzzie-hugger organization. By the 2004 election, President Bush was not a favorite of the jihadis. He would definitely be suspected of being a partisan of fellow muzzie B. Hussein (pbuh).
