Why can't we ship water from the East Coast...

...to the West Coast? The entire eastern half of the country has been getting tons of rainfall, while the west dries up and is slowly dying of thirst.

In the words of Joe Biden, this is America! Come on, man! We can do anything!

Convert some of the oil pipelines to water pipelines. Charter fleets of trucks (electric trucks) to fill up in the East and drive out to the parched west. Return and repeat. Load water tankers on trains and ship it out west.

We get a LOT of our produce from California. It's like watching a slow motion horror flick as the west rapidly dries up. I understand California has about 10 operating desalination plants, but they are not enough.

Maybe climate change can work in our favor. Why don't Pacific hurricanes travel up the west coast and fill up the reservoirs? Maybe they will begin to do so. Just because they haven't....the jet stream might shift....who knows? Until the climate patterns change, let's get off our butts. Come on, man!

Don’t worry about it Dems in CA. Gavin Newsom is a genius and a god, just ask him. He’ll find a way to get water from a rock.

In the primitive's mind, all solutions are cost-free.

A single cow uses 50 gallons of water a day.  Wheat takes 130 gallons per pound.  A DAY. So for math, let's say 100 for each.

A single tanker truck carries around 8,000 gallons.  So one tanker truck could serve 80 cows or grow 80 lbs of wheat (for illustrative purposes).  California has around 1 million cows and grows 1 million pounds of wheat a year.  So you only need 125,000 daily deliveries a day for EACH - so a quarter of a million deliveries (one way) for THOSE 2 SAMPLE agricultural products.

I am not going to bother to computer the cost of gas, tires, infrastructure, tolls, etc. etc. etc.

These people are not only nuts they cannot do basic arithmetic.

Those trucks better be self driving. There's already a driver shortage and that's across the board.

this is where outside the box thinking is needed.

Rather than electric trucks, the DUmmies need to incorporate trucks powered by hydrogen fuel cells to haul the water.

Since one the byproducts of a hydrogen fuel cell creating the electricity to drive the trucks is water, start the truck off on the east coast towing an empty tank trailer.  Capture the water byproduct from the fuel cell and divert it into the empty tank.  By the time the truck reached the golden state they should have created enough water for the  tank to be full.

If the water tank isn't full when the truck reaches california, divert it to california speedway in Fontana and have it do laps around the track until the tank if full.

Problem solved and it's a solution so simple even the DUmmies would love it.

:thatsright: There are not enough tanker trucks in the US to be meaningful. That ignores the practical problem of cleaning them out.

:thatsright: There are not enough oil pipelines in the US to be meaningful. That ignores the practical problem of cleaning them out.

:thatsright: With all oil and gas transport means diverted to shipping water to CA, how would those DU-folk who actually work get to work? After a few days or as much as a couple of weeks, their cars' tanks would be dry, buses' tanks would be dry, and the whole working country would be high and dry.

California's climate, for centuries or millennia, has oscillated from wet years to dry years to ... . Staring in the 1970s, the Enviros and the Dems, directly and through courts, have all but shut down new water storage projects, obstructed expansion of existing projects, and forced the waste of stored water on the delta smelt.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

One crop that uses unholy amounts of water is cannabis - let's go ahead and suggest that they outlaw growing THAT and see what happens.

I'm surprised that they haven't done their usual and demanded that golf courses be outlawed, just to have someone introduce them to the concept of reclaimed water.

In any case, CA is one good rain away from not being in drought.

Already blocked by the Enviros, because de-sal plants discharge warm water back into the ocean.

A number of DUpipo mention diverting water from the Great Lakes. Bad idea, for a lot of reasons, including war with Canada.

All they need to do is take hydrogen and oxygen from the air, and turn it into water, remember air is free! :-)

You forgot there is no hydrogen and oxygen left in the air, it's all CO2 now.

Carlin once did a routine about taking over golf courses for low-cost housing.  Whether he was serious or sarcastic, one will never know, but it wouldn't shock me to hear some woke-tard ass-hat suggest that in this era.

Sure, nothing to it.

They should experiment on a small scale with cinder block and chickenwire models first, before going all in.
