I'm not underestimating the stupidity of the American people

Regarding Palin:

Enough people could fall for that "Mrs. Smith Goes to Washington" image to make the election close enough to steal again or win outright. It won't matter when Biden smokes her in the debates -- people vote emotionally. Republicans have been effective at crafting candidates with homespun appeal and creating importance out of issues revolving around family values and faith. It's a scary possibility and needs to be taken seriously.

You answered your own question... People vote with their emotions

And this is not a gender thing. It' s both men and women. It's not even a Liberal/Conservative thing.

This is the way we are wired as a species. Emotion always plays a part in our decision making. Not the only part but a big part. And it it may not be over riding for al people but it is for many even most people.

And if it's one thing republicans know to do, it's manipulate people's emotions: xenophobia, envy, insecurity, denial, wishful thinking, patriotism... even compassion and fairness (which form a core of Liberal values)

It's not that every decision based on emotion is a bad one. But Republicans know how to get people to make bad decisions using people's emotions.

Projection time.

And yes it is a liberal/conservative thing.  You Dems/libs vote with your emotions.  Your whole existance is one big emotional outburst.  Don't you ever doubt that for a minute.  Conservatives know how to set aside their emotions when it's decision time and to use logic and to analyze the facts.  Liberals pull out the emotions when it comes time to make decisions.  That's why the majority of CEO's of big corps are overwhelmingly Republican/conservative.  A large business simply can't have someone in charge who's gonna cry when it's time to decide something.

So Winebrat, if you truly want to understand why some people are stupid, you need do nothing more than examine yourself and your fellow DUmmies because you define it.

2. how could they?
 people vote emotionally

I don't understand why people would vote emotionally when they could instead vote for hope and change?

I don't know who Blue is, but that one was classic!   :rotf:

7. Do you know how many people will be turned off when they find out
that she killed baby wolf pups in their den? I find that not only unfeeling but proof of emotional disturbance...it is tantamount to murder in my book. Obviously it is only human babies that are sacrasanct. This needs to be out there (if true) big time.

This from the forum that thinks she should have aborted her last child, and supports the slaughter of over a million American infants every year.   :censored:

I don't think we should finalize our opinion of Palin until we hear what Asher Heimerman thinks.

And any time now, TomInTib should weigh in. Of course, he knows Palin personally. They met during his time in Alaska, he claims, as chief of nuclear weapons security for Ice Station Zebra.

I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
