How could any intellectually honest person they say the state's proved their case beyond a reasonable doubt? They couldn't seem to provide a consistent explanation fo how Floyd died. Their medical expert witnesses spouted utter inanities about the risks associated with smoking and Floyd's heart problems. They said in closing arguments "Maybe it was [Floyd's] enlarged heart, maybe it wasn't."

That's just a sampling of the prosecution's shortcomings. The state also had every advantage; they couldn't have asked for a more favorable jury. The judge was more than generous to them. The case pitted the state versus basically one defense attorney. The media has done what they do best, inundating the public with propaganda about how Chauvin's guilt is a foregone conclusion and the trial but a formality.
