will come forward and let us know what kind of "guidance" they've received from management on how to cover Trump and Republicans vs. Biden and Democrats. Have reporters and pundits ever been "incentivized" to favor Republicans or "bothsiderism" in the interest of boosting corporate profits?

Remember how there were going to be 20 million vaccines administered by the end of December? It was a bunch of hooey, but the media repeated it was if it was something real that was going to happen. Until it didn't. Oh, the Trump administration was going to use the military, and Donald knew so much about logistics (more than anyone), and by golly, the media had better be giving Trump the credit he deserved for talking such a good vaccine game!

Now, mere weeks later, all the Trump promises are just so much vapor, completely forgotten by the media. Which means they have no context for rating what the Biden administration has been doing, which is having to put together from square one a vaccination program because Trump left the cupboard less than bare and the distribution system hollowed out. And I know those are concepts the media can grasp, because those were the excuses the Trump administration used early on every time they failed to do something because they didn't know what they were doing.

False claim. The Federal government can deliver ## million doses to states, but cannot control administration. What Trump actually "boasted" was that the goal was 20 million doses delivered to the states.

IIRC, courtesy of the FDA moving test goalposts and being un-diligent (2-3 weeks each!) in evaluating Pfizer's and Moderna's test data, Trump missed the 12/31/2020 goal of 20M doses distributed by 2 or 3 days. HiLIARy would not have tried.

Of the three major vaccines in current use:

* The Pfizer vaccine was developed by BioNTech, a German company; BioNTech was the developer and Pfizer is the production and distribution muscle;

* The AstraZeneca vaccine was developed by Oxford University in the UK;

* Moderna is a US company; because of the technology they (and BioNTech) use, Moderna had their current vaccine designed within a week of learning the SARS-CoV-2 virus DNA sequence; the US government was aiding them almost literally from the start.

Whether Hillary or Joe, what would not have happened are:

* The FDA being ass-kicked into designing test protocols that combined thoroughness and URGENCY;

* Federal funding of, variously, development and testing and the FDA giving vaccines Fast-Track status (probably worth millions of $$);

* 100M-300M dose purchase contracts that came into effect when a vaccine received FDA Emergency Use Authorization.

Neither Hillary or Joe would have the sense of urgency or the imagination to try what Operation Warp Speed accomplished.
