Labor Day Plans?
« on: August 28, 2008, 11:51:37 AM »
What will everyone be up to this weekend?

Have anything fun planned?

I need a new pair of shoes and might do some shopping in Las Vegas.

Sailing, sailing and more sailing.

Flogging the crew to keep morale up.

Figuring where exactly to store a keg of Guinness on a 21' sailboat so as not to hinder access to that Elixir of Life.

Maybe toss out the anchor and make "swim call"...

Huge get together at one of my co-workers houses. BBQ and Boozing Hounding all day long!
NHRA US Nationals eliminations later that evening on ESPN2! Should be a great day!

No plans.  I work Saturday, but that evening will be the usual gathering of friends.

If Gustav moves more west, my family in SE Texas may have to evacuate.  If that happens, I'll be spending the day with them.

The wife hasn't informed me of what "my" plans are yet.

I'll work my normal Fri-Sun shift and volunteer to work Monday if needed. (Just to piss the union off)

Given the Masshole influx this weekend and subsequent complete gridlock they bring with them, I'm staying home, or relatively close.  BBQ will be going full force all weekend with all sorts of dead animal and some veggie goodness.  Many beers will be killed, just to watch them die.

Finishing up paperwork, had my closing at noon today (yippeee!), packing a bit....and we're heading up to No Ohio this evening. M's driving so we should be there in 6.5 to 7 hours depending on traffic.

My brother, his wife and kids, 3 and 5 (he's 15 yrs younger) are supposed to leave Chicago about 4...he said he hopes to be out of the house by 6... :lmao:

The women in the family are getting mani/pedi's at 10 in the morning.  :-)

The wedding rehearsal is late afternoon and the rehearsal dinner is just for the wedding party and their spouses/dates, parents and grandparents...there are 8 bridesmaids! So there's a big dessert party at my sister's after...about 7:30. She's having it catered, so no one has to do anything. She moved into a new house on Wednesday....she needed more stress than just marrying off her youngest... :o

Wedding festivities are all day Saturday/Saturday night....we're coming home on Sunday to avoid the lake/holiday traffic and I think I invited people over for a pool party on Monday.....

Have a safe and fun holiday weekend everybody!!! :cheersmate:

Cook-out, watch football, go shoot my uncle's new McRee Precision/Lawton Machine .375 in the Arbuckle Mountains, and go to the lake on Sunday afternoon for some tubing/wakeboarding.

Monday is opening day of dove season.
The Mrs. and I will be out 1/2 hour prior to sunrise, blasting little birdies of peace from the sky with 12 guage shotguns.

Find a Ptarmigan or two and take them out while you're at it.......... :fuelfire:

Today is a quick six hours at work. Then I don't return to work until Tues afternoon...nice long weekend...my back and neck need the rest.

I was slammed yesterday, and left work with a headache.  :hammer:

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Oceanside, So Cal just a bit north of San Diego.

Very gray and overcast as you can see. I loved it. I had breakfast at a Rubys restaurant at the end of the pier.

Wow, great pictures.

I love water.

I had a few highlights this weekend, one of them was taking my mother wine tasting at Nevada's oldest winery.
