Susan Calvin (1,001 posts)USPS defies court order to finf missing ballotshttps://hillreporter.com/u-s-postal-service-defies-court-order-to-find-missing-ballots-84257The United States Postal Service has been court-ordered to do a “sweep” for 300k missing mail-in ballots. They’ve refused. Can the USPS just decline to follow an order from a federal judge? That’s the question sweeping the nation as election day comes to a close. The Washington Post has reported that the order from U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan of the District of Columbia required the USPS to do a sweep of facilities in 12 postal districts in 15 states, by 3:30 pm.Instead, the agency’s attorneys sent back a response over an hour after the deadline, refusing to comply, saying they couldn’t follow the order “without significantly disrupting preexisting activities” and suggesting that the court couldn’t possibly have meant for that to happen.Attorneys, legal experts, and voters alike expressed shock that an entity could expect to get away with flatly refusing to comply with a Federal order, especially at the expense of voting rights.

Yo_Mama_Been_Loggin (55,994 posts)Celebrities spent millions so Florida felons could vote. Will it make a difference?TALLAHASSEE — The multimillion-dollar effort by Michael Bloomberg, LeBron James and other celebrities to pay off lingering court fines and fees for Florida felons could make almost 13,000 of them eligible to vote in Tuesday’s election, an analysis by the Tampa Bay Times/Miami Herald and ProPublica found.Although the modest increase in eligible felons falls far short of expectations, it could be large enough to make a difference in a key state where polls indicate that the presidential contest is once again a toss-up.Among four of the state’s largest counties — Hillsborough, Pinellas, Palm Beach and Polk — about 32 percent, or 1,518, of the 4,700 felons who had their fines and fees paid by the nonprofit Florida Rights Restoration Coalition are registered to vote in the upcoming election, according to the Times/Herald/ProPublica review.Across the state, where the coalition used contributions from celebrities and other donors to pay about $27 million in fines and fees for about 40,000 felons, that pattern could translate to about 12,800 eligible voters if the proportion is consistent and they don’t owe other court debts.https://www.tampabay.com/news/florida-politics/elections/2020/11/02/celebrities-spent-millions-so-florida-felons-could-vote-will-it-make-a-difference/Guess that's why the orange tub of lard was so upset over LeBron the other day.

Skraxx (1,499 posts)Guys FL and GA are rigged top to bottom, I've been saying this for weeks. we can't depend on themand never should have. MI, WI, NC and PA have Dem leadership, those are the states to watch. They WILL count all the votes, which may be frustrating because it can take longer, but those are the ball game. The reason FL and GA come in so quick and will be called tonight is because THEY ARE RIGGED.
BigmanPigman (38,963 posts)If tRump wins POTUS but Dems get Senate, can we impeach him again and remove him? There are a zillion charges they could nail him on and the new Dem Senate could remove him. Then we would get Pence...and he doesn't own the cult like tRump does.Edit****Wow, thanks for the quick answers DU! I'm glad we have a lot of smarties out there!

Personally I think Trump will lose by 1 state...sucks but it appears all they need is WI,MI, and NV to hit 270.
So, when do we riot?Oh, yeah, we're Conservatives and respect the results of elections even if they don't go our way.

Alternatively, the people in these states know how to not **** up their vote counts.Look on the bright side: This shows you can't just buy the government. For people who claim to want the money out of politics, the left seems blithely unconcerned with money in politics.
