13. For the 10,000th time, there was no mention whatsoever of homosexuality in the New Testament
Jesus never uttered one word about homosexuality. On the contrary, his teaches suggests that Jesus would have been accepting of homosexuality.
There are some people so steeped in their ignorance that they can't be helped.
A theological point so shallow as to be laughable.
Who do they think wrote the Old Testament?
I could expound for considerable length about the NT relying on the OT but why bother.
The NT assumes Jesus to be God among men and God wrote the OT, anti-gay injunctions and all; ergo Jesus wrote the anti-gay injunctions. Please don't leap out at me with the "grace/salvation from sin" doctrines; I am well aware of them I'm simply adressing the matter at hand.
That said, even if one denies Jesus' divinity we are asked if he came to overturn God's law as if God had erred and the newcomer was greater than his creator. Even being absurd as that we have to ask if the laws against stealing, usury, rape (very "not mentioned" in the NT), murder and whatnot are also on the legislative chopping block.
Fact is: humans are very fond of their private sins and they will spend considerable amounts of time explaining to God why He was wrong and their habit should be exempt from his judgement.
