Hours after Facebook censored the New York Post's bombshell report that Hunter Biden introduced Joe Biden to a Ukrainian energy executive, Twitter has apparently followed suit, labeling the article "potentially harmful."

Even the Post’s oped editor Sohrab Ahmari was blocked from sharing the story.

This is what happens when I try to post our story exposing Biden family graft. pic.twitter.com/7pwxUoNgTX— Sohrab Ahmari (@SohrabAhmari) October 14, 2020

The head of the FEC is taking notice. This is unfairly trying to influence the election.

Twitter suffers embarrassing outage amid Post censorship controversy
https://nypost.com/2020/10/15/twitter-appears-to-be-down/

Maybe they censored themselves.

Twitter suffered a major crash on Thursday evening — telling users “something went wrong” when they attempted to open their feeds.

For more than an hour, thousands of users reported experiencing issues sending tweets or refreshing their timelines.

Service appeared to have been at least partially restored for some accounts shortly after 7 p.m.

Twitter suffered outage.

Twitter’s API status site said at around 5:56 p.m. that it was “currently investigating this issue.”

“We know people are having trouble Tweeting and using Twitter,” Twitter spokewoman said in an email to The Post.

“We have no evidence of a security breach or hack, and we’re currently investigating internal causes. We’re working to fix this issue as quickly as possible. We’ll share more when we have it and Tweet from @TwitterSupport once we can – stay tuned.”

Social media backlash resurrected over Biden's transition team's ties to Facebook and Twitter

Quote
The Biden campaign is facing renewed criticism over its deep connections with Big Tech after both Twitter and Facebook censored a story from The New York Post detailing allegedly corrupt business deals by Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden.

The move prompted fresh criticism on social media over the Biden transition team’s hiring of top Facebook executive Jessica Hertz, which reportedly came days after the 2020 Democrat’s campaign penned a letter to the social media giant urging them to censor President Trump’s posts.

Twitter’s suppression of the Hunter Biden revelations also came days after the company’s director of public policy, Carlos Monje, reportedly left his post to work for the Biden transition team.

Joe Concha, a media reporter for The Hill, underscored the timing of the events on Twitter Sunday after a user observed that the New York Post is “still locked out of its Twitter account for publishing a story that made Joe Biden look bad.”

Conflict of interest anyone?

Biden has come under fire from progressives for criticizing Big Tech while hiring or accepting advice from some of its defenders.

Out of the Biden campaign's nearly 700-person volunteer advisory group, eight members work for Facebook, Apple, Google or Amazon, the New York Times reported in August.

“Many technology giants and their executives have not only abused their power but misled the American people, damaged our democracy and evaded any form of responsibility,” a Biden spokesperson told the New York Times at the time. “Anyone who thinks that campaign volunteers or advisers will change Joe Biden’s fundamental commitment to stopping the abuse of power and stepping up for the middle class doesn’t know Joe Biden.”

Despite big tech censorship, Hunter Biden laptop story tops social media
https://thepostmillennial.com/despite-censorship-hunter-biden-laptop-story-tops-social-media

Quote
New revelations published by the New York Post surrounding former Vice President Joe Biden's involvement with his son's business dealings in Ukraine topped all other stories related to the upcoming US presidential election in the past week, according to a new report by Axios.

The story contradicts earlier claims by Joe Biden that he had no involvement in his son's business dealings in Ukraine. Leaked emails acquired from Hunter Biden's laptop appear to show executives of the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma were, in fact, introduced to the former Vice President.

Between October 12th and 19th, the Hunter Biden story received 4.7 million interactions on social media. The story received 1.9 million more engagements than the second most interacted with story of the week, which concerned the social media censorship of the revelations.

The Streisand Effect is in effect.

Quote
The failure of social media companies to suppress the story is yet another example of the so-called "Streisand effect," whereby those who seek to censor stories over social media inadvertently creates even greater interest in the topic. As noted in an article from the MIT Technology Review on Monday, the censorship of the story likely doubled its overall visibility and caused it to gain even more attention than it otherwise would have.

The laptop is now in the possession of the FBI.
