Chatter over Hutchison as possible VP pick gets louder

In that vein, I'm going to say McPain will pick Pawlenty. They're BOTH RINOs, so...... They'd be a good pair. Pawlenty is pretty ball-less. I still remember the "No additional taxes" meme he touted in the MN elections. So, in order to garner the state of MN a cool $17 MILLION/ month, he allowed a dollar a pack "health impact fee" on cigarettes in MN.  However, he DID sign the MN Personal Protection Act, which made the state a "shall issue" state for Permits to Carry a Handgun. So, I'm mixed on Pawlenty.

Schadie, did he allow the 10 cents per gallon gas tax to be passed ?? I haven't bothered to keep up with that since I left MN.

Kay Bailey Hutchinson's record on opposing gun control initiatives is pretty good. I doubt that her and McPain would see eye to eye on the gun control issues.

From what I've just read about Kay Bailey Hutchinson makes me believe that she's a REAL Republican (The Eisenhower type, NOT a Reagan "Republican") I would like her, so, it won't happen

According to Drudge, based on this article, McCain has made his pick and it comes down to Romney, Pawlenty, or Lieberman. It will be announced at 11 a.m. on Friday.

there is no way, not a single chance in hell, that it's lieberman.

That would be a sure fire way for him to lose the election IMO.

I dunno. In my view, Ronald Reagan is possibly the greatest American in the history of the republic, and I don't see anything in Kay Bailey Hutchison's record that isn't consistent with Reaganism. So, I revere Reagan, you apparerntly dislike him, and we're both okay with Hutchison. That makes her a pretty solid choice. (I would prefer her, a Reagan, OR an Eisenhower to McCain, but I wasn't consulted.)

After Obama's anti-climatic pick of Biden, a solid conservative (outside the beltway) would give McCain the momentum he needs to hit this out of the ball park. I truly believe it.

Reagan did a couple of things that truly dismayed me. First of all, he granted amnesty to some six million illegal aliens. This established a precedent to allow this to happen again. He had the opportunity to truly address the illegal alien problem in a way that would benefit this country and, IMO, he blew it. Secondly, he allowed the 1986 Gun Control act to be passed. This act circumvented the Second Amendment. I "Liked" Reagan and even voted for him. He DID do a LOT of good for the military, especially the Navy. I admire him for those military oriented efforts. I was USN from 1975-1995 and survived Carter and his pathetic office. I saw days of gloom when Carter was in office.
