Question: Could Gov. Walz use his authority to send the National Guard in to Minneapolis...
...and relieve the police department since they're completely out of control now?

I know the Orange ****opotomus couldn't send them in under the Posse Comitatus Act but I'm wondering if Walz could order up the National Guard to take over law enforcement in Minneapolis until they get their shit together?

Minneapolis, Minnesota: D D D D D

How It Works:
Here at BestPlaces, we were looking at the voting patterns since the 2000 election and realized that we could express the results of each election as one letter. R if the Republican candidate won, D for the Democrat and I for the Independent. The five elections (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016) would be expressed as five-letter word (R R D R R).

Then we went a little further and added the dimension of magnitude. If the difference of victory was greater than 10 percent, the letter is upper case, and lower case if the difference was less than 10 percent. This allows us to see interesting voting patterns at just a glance.

Here’s the VoteWord for Iowa – d r d d r. In the last five elections the state has been closely contested, voting narrowly for the Republican candidate in 2016 after voting Democratic in 2008 and 2012. Virginia (r r d d d) has voted narrowly Democratic in the last three elections.

M'polis' mayor canned the officers involved in the death to which DU-folk are alluding. From the little info I've seen, appropriately, and at least some could be seeing the other side of jail and prison bars.

Justine Damond: US city of Minneapolis pays family $20m

The family of an Australian woman shot dead by a police officer has been promised $20m (£15.5m) in compensation by the US city of Minneapolis.

Mohamed Noor shot Justine Ruszczyk Damond as she approached his patrol car to report a possible rape behind her Minneapolis home on 15 July 2017.

Ms Damond, 40, was unarmed and the former policeman was found guilty of her murder on Tuesday.

Her family say they will donate $2m towards fighting gun violence.

The mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, said unprecedented circumstances played a role in the settlement, which is the highest the city in the state of Minnesota has ever paid out. The woman was in pajamas, unarmed and the Muslim fired across his partner to kill the woman.

"There was not a clear threat before the use of force was made," said Mr Frey. "This is not a victory for anyone, but rather a way for our city to move forward."

The cop was a Muslim with a known attitude towards women and white people.

The video I saw is pretty damning. The city had better release any bodycam footage that is available.

Spoken like someone who has nothing of value to protect (people or property).

3. The idea of a police force is rooted in protecting private property and chasing people escaping slavery. It's an inherently racist system that does little for a community.

The police force in Boston began in 1636 and was called the "night watch". It was a paid position. Not many escaping slaves in Massachusetts colony at the time. Similarly, the origins of NYPD was a night watch system in the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam, again in the 17th Century. Not many escaping slaves in New Amsterdam/New York colony at the time. I'm sure I would find similar situations in the oldest major cities in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Rhode Island Colonies, where slavery was either forbidden or very rare. The first police for the city of London were called the "Bow Street Runners", founded in 1749. Not many escaping slaves in the city of London at the time.

OTOH, it is true that one of the tasks of police departments has always been to protect property from thieves and vandals.

How much you want to bet this brainless, heartless POS has never once been the victim of a crime, or had any of their private property stolen or vandalized?
The police officers I've personally known have been wonderful men and women, and absolute pillars of their communities.

The police are really there to protect criminals from vigilantes.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

On this one, I'm sorry, the cops should be tried and convicted of first degree murder. After 2 minutes he was clearly not responsive and likely did not have a pulse at that point. Then another 5-6 minutes goes by. I hope they are convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

Now that there is looting and arson going on does this DUmmie still want the National Guard to be deployed? My guess is no.
