.....most local grocery stores are out of so much. Food Lion's shelves were almost empty a month ago.
Now, I will grant that conditions in blue states aren't necessarily the same as conditions in red states (crime, corruption, crowdedness, cleanliness), and so the primitive may very well be telling the truth.
But out here in the much-maligned breadbasket of America (and a great deal of the world), while there may have been an empty shelf or row in an occasional aisle of a grocery store, there seems to have been no critical or life-threatening shortage of food, cleaning products, paper products. And the meat counters are as full as they've always been.
About the only difference is, oddly while the dairy shelves are chock full, on some days they have 2% milk only, no skim or 1% or whole.....and this, in one of the largest dairy regions of the country. I dunno why this is, perhaps some supply chain glitch.
