Once the Senate votes not to remove Trump he will see this as a carte blanche to do anything he wants to win the next election.

There will be virtually no chance of being impeached again before November so he will redouble his efforts to cheat and distort the election. He will be emboldened to solicit help from Putin and AG Barr can quash any investigations into this. Trump could force a win for himself in spite of a huge majority of voters who are against him.

If after all this he still loses, he will remain president for 2 1/2 months before the new president is sworn in. Because he's so vindictive I'm sure he will spend this time doing everything he can to sabotage the new administration. I'm not sure just what he would do but with his cadre of loyal, amoral advisors I'm sure they will brainstorm up some pretty awful scenarios.

One scary thought is that he could drop a nuclear bomb somewhere just before he leaves so the next president would have to immediately deal with the consequences before he even has a cabinet.

The only way out of this is for the Senate to remove him from office but then it would be nearly impossible for Republicans to get a viable candidate nominated and campaigning before November.
To remove him would mean defeat in the next election so there's a strong incentive for them to keep him in power.

So buckle up. If you think the roller coaster's been bad up to now just wait till the trial is over.

Yeah, he's going to start a nuclear war just for the hell of it.  This is the same kind of crap I heard from my college buddies in 1980 when I told them I was voting for Reagan.

It brings to mind a recent thread in which a DUmmy is talking about the first things a new Democrat president should do upon taking office. One of the first things he/ she suggested was to nuke Russia (Never mind that such an action would be pretty much guaranteed to start World War III).
