did a survey - and 42 per cent of those who responded (pretty high, for the land of the brainwashed) that they thought politics drove the 'pre-election gas sale.'

18. Same thing happened right in time for Nov '06. The previous August,
   
we were all howling about gas prices. Then we discussed how coincidental it was that the price slid all the way up until election day. Then, we discussed it going right back up on the next day and it went up all the way until the beginning of this month and it will probably continue to slide until November. BUT, I don't see it getting below $3/gallon. We're being conditioned and below that is not conditional to their bottom line.



Okay, I can't be the only person that remembers gas always going down in the fall am I?  I mean it did it last year too and for as many years as I've been driving.

Yes, gasoline prices drop after Labor Day every year.  Supply is always high and stocked because it's time to produce heating oil.

Gas went up over the weekend.  It's 4 cents higher than it was Friday.  The Little Goons can't breath unless they are looking for a conspiracy.  They are scared shitless that someone (a normal person) is going to pull the wool over their eyes.

It's the strangest thing,apparently Oats.spring Wheat,Barley and corn don't grow so good in the snow.  It's the strangest thing,apparently once the kids are back in school parents forgo vacations and travel for awhile. It's the strangest thing.

     The data above refer to average monthly percentage changes in US gasoline prices from the year 1978 to 2008. One shortcoming is that these data are not weighted - I didn't consider gallons consumed. Still, notice that over the 30 year period, there is a decided tendency for prices to decline in the Fall.  In 21 of the 30 years, there was a decrease in retail gasoline prices from September to October.

It has been my expereince that gas prices go up after Memorial Day and drop after Labor Day.

Can y'all say summer vacation road trips?

Sure you can!
It goes down here in the Mitten because we use a different blend during the fall and winter. I assume it's cheaper to refine?

The different seasonal blends probably do have something to do with it.  More congressional stupidity.
