Do you think the term "Obama lovers" used as a slur is racist?

I sure do and yet not only has someone called us all that in an OP, but they're recieved several recs and some are posting in favor of it.

I know this will get locked but I think we need to call attention to this kind of thing and point out those who support it.

There are plenty of times I've seen people take offense at things said about Obama which they claimed were racist, when they clearly weren't.

Just as there were many things said about Clinton that some saw as sexist that weren't.

And I plead guilty at times of reading things into people's remarks that are homophobic that may not be in reality.

If one's own ox is being gored, it attracts one's attention. Blacks are more attuned to racism, women are more attuned to sexism and gay folks are more tuned into homophobia.

That's just the nature of human beings. The trick is to try and walk through life without a chip on your shoulder.

I am really very fond of the first amendment and support religious tolerance and religious freedom, in fact I support almost all forms of non-libelous free speech. I am a big fan of all of our constitutional rights, especially the 2nd, 4th and 5th amendments.
