So, what's the big deal ?? Kentuck

So, what's the big deal ??

If a President stands next to Vladimir Putin and betrays our country - the country he is supposed to represent, does it really matter?

If he conspires and colludes, with same adversary, to assist him in his campaign against his political opponent, doesn't everyone do it?

If his son, his namesake, meets with Russians - who promised "dirt" - in the Trump Tower, what's the problem?

If this President then assists his son in making a false statement about what was discussed with these Russians, isn't that something that any father would do??

If a former attorney and "fixer" makes a public statement that the President also knew about the meeting before it took place, although he has denied it at every turn, does that change anything?

"So, what's the big deal?", Trump supporters are now asking. "Everyone has done it", they say.

I fear this assault upon the truth and upon our sensibilities will numb America against its better self. At this time, I feel that we must stand with our laws and our Constitution and the institutions that uphold those laws. The right to vote must be a sacred right for our democracy.

The rule of law cannot bend to the shrill chants of the powerful and their sycophants. It must hold its ground.

So, what's the big deal?

If the DNC rigs its election to favor one candidate over another, what's the big deal?

If a president goes around apologizing for America and bowing down in humble servitude to various heads of State, what's the problem?

There are others.

So bluegrass primitive, where were these questions during the term of Dear Leader? Oh, that's right, you're not *really* interested in standing with our laws and our Constitution and the institutions that uphold those laws. You're interested in defending Democrats no matter what they do.

Hypocrite.

Except that is NOT what President Trump's supporters are saying.  We are saying "this never happened and there is still no evidence for any of this after millions of dollars and unlimited subpoena power -- this is a witch hunt pure and simple."

Their shiny object this week seems to be 'Donald Trump knew all about the meeting and was personally involved.'  But what is really there?

Junior agreed to the meeting, thinking he was going to maybe get some kind of Clinton dirt.

Thanks to the Clinton Foundation, the CGI, and Hitlery's time as SoS, there is Clinton dirt all over the world; the fact that a Russian lawyer is offering it doesn't actually mean anything in particular.

There's no indication that anyone from our intel community did or could have told a challenger's campaign that someone is linked to a foreign government.  In fact there doesn't seem to be any mechanism at all to vet people for the party that's outside the White House to check on such bona fides.

Even if there was such a mechanism, it would give the party inside the White House a virtual spy inside the challenging campaign.

The Clinton dirt promise proved to be BS, the lawyer actually wanted to pitch some stuff about international adoptions on behalf of one or more non-governmental clients, so the meeting itself had nothing to do with any Russian government agenda.

Trump Sr. knowing about/approving the meeting:  Though he says he didn't know, let's suppose Jr. mentioned it to him; the meeting proved to be a nothingburger, he may legitimately have no memory.  Hearing about a meeting with a foreign attorney in an off-handed way and then purging it from memory when nothing came of it is a million miles from knowing collusion with a representative of a foreign government.

Well, if you ASSume Trump people were colluding with the Russians, it could be a big deal. But if you realize it's just a Presidential campaign and nothing more, it's, "Hey Dad, some Russian lawyer lady says they have info on Hillary, so I'm going to meet her," and, "OK, son." What they Proggies want people to forget is that after 15 or 20 minutes of nothing, Donald Jr. walked out of the meeting with nothing, having given nothing.

Kentuck and other DUmmies were saying "what's the big deal" for 8 years...though meaning it in a totally different way when Barry was occupying the WH.

Same when Billy Jeff was there.

BTW is he actually IN Kentucky these days?  Since I'm in the Commonwealth as well it would be kinda funny to accidentially run into him.

As Liberal as he is there's only three places in the state he could actually survive and I'm near two of them.

He's in Colorado Springs, CO, I believe. His real name is Ken Tuck, though I also believe he was originally from Kentucky.

If, on the other hand, said Russian lawyer had EVIDENCE of HRC conducting pay-for-play (better than even odds that at least one entity worldwide is sitting on such, for future leverage) by demanding "donations" to the CGI for some favor at State, Jr would have been dumb to not take that meeting.  Given that was the line used to get her foot in the door, they decided to take it.  And if Bernie gets offered EVIDENCE of DJT offering to "be flexible" towards Putin going into 2020, I would expect him to take it.  It's politics, not treason.

The Libs...especially the denizens of Skin's Island have been looking for "revenge"...looking for a way to get back at the GOP since the impeachment of Billy Jeff.

They tried it with Bush...with Cheney....no luck...not even when they had their closet committee investigating the whole "Bush lied" myth.

They're just trying it again this time with more evidence of Collusion between Hillary and the Russians than with Trump and the Russians.

The ONLY positive out of this investigation is the fact that the Dems are FINALLY concerned about Russian interference in our elections.

It's only taken them about 5 decades to do so.
