this was a pretty huge outrage 4 years ago.  the dems managed to get recounts until they got the
result they wanted.  and there were, uh, irregularities with the voting rolls, as I recall.

Washington state voters get a rematch for governor

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Their spots on the November ballot now secure, Democratic incumbent Chris Gregoire and Republican Dino Rossi enter the homestretch in what likely will be the nation's most competitive governor's race.

It's the final phase of a rematch four years in the making, set up by Gregoire's 133-vote 2004 win, which followed three vote counts and an unsuccessful Republican court challenge.

Unofficial returns in Tuesday's primary showed Gregoire with a lead — but not by much. With about 37 percent of the ballots counted, Gregoire had 381,250 votes, or 49 percent of the vote to Rossi's 349,269 votes, or 45 percent.

Under Washington's new primary system, Gregoire and Rossi, easily the top two vote-getters, will be the only two gubernatorial candidates listed on the ballot in November.

Analysts warned against reading too much into the primary. The pool of voters in these elections tends to be smaller, with an attentive, activist bent. The general election, particularly with an open presidential seat atop the ticket, will draw far more voters, including those more apt to cross party lines.

oh yeah, this is going to be another bloodbath... but Rossi is up 10% this year at this time, than he was four years ago at this time..

our gas taxes are the highest in the nation, so Gregoire doesnt have a good track record. and with a big 2 billion budget gap right now, she is laying low.

interesting times..

I wonder how much voter fraud she and her cronies can construct THIS go-around ??

well, i never miss an opportunity to slam Queen Christine  the elections office has managed to scrape all the dead people and double voters off the rolls.. but that just means more work for the Queen's bees this year..

A $2 BILLION budget gap?  Bredesen would get hounded out of office down here.

I don't blame you.  Count the votes until you get the results you want... Gore tried to do the same thing and lost.  A true case of voter fraud and the Dems ignore it and have their friends in the media sweep it under the rug.

it was just so freaking blatant, even Dems here were outraged at how brazen the whole thing was.

Rossi wins first count.. uh oh, time for a recount.

Rossi wins recount.

suddenly a few boxes were 'found' in a locker or vault somewhere. the military votes were sent out late to soldiers overseas, then when they came back were all stamped "late!" and thrown out.

gregoire managed to get 130something extra fake ballots pulled out of her rear end at the very last moment. you just cant make this stuff up..
