Hillary, you can heal us! Give your votes to Stephanie Tubbs Jones before the roll call vote!
 Advertisements [?]
You know (if what you claim is your desire for this) that this vote should only be an honorary one that Barack Obama will win anyway and that you hope to get your supporters to join the crowd at the convention in unifying behind Obama this way.

Do an even better and not just "honorary" thing, but "HONORABLE" thing and honor Ms. Jones this one last time when all Democrats can give her respect by before the roll call vote, having all of your supporters vote for Ms. Jones instead of yourself.

It would be a great way to heal the party of its wounds that its gone through, and pay decent tribute to such a great woman at a time we should be remembering her for her contributions.

That moment of honor (and the honor you would get from helping facilitate it) would be far more than what you could ever hope for with that "symbolic" vote that was originally planned.

Please do it to unify the party, and help us WIN OUR COUNTRY BACK in November!

5. Pffft - let Obama give up his votes if you want someone to give away votes so badly.

I really respected Stephanie Tubbs-Jones but empty gestures won't do a thing to remember her by - let's just get Obama elected, get a super-majority in Senators and send the ethically-challenged repubs on their way.

There is nothing "honorable" about your suggestion. In no way does this help a person who had died by asking someone to give up her votes she fought hard to obtain. Let Hillary have her moment at the convention, she is on board with Obama so why the continued expectation of more and more concessions from her to please a few who just can't quit talking about her or hating her? She can't win with some people.

7. You act as if there's still a race for Hillary to "win" with comments like yours...
The totals are already in place, and Obama IS going to win, whether you sore losers want to admit it or not. And I've not been a big supporter of Obama through the primaries either. But now that he is our nominee, I'm committed to seeing him win against McCain! Ms. Tubbs Jones was also a very big supporter of Ms. Clinton's campaign. Unless you think there's a chance in hell that Clinton will be allowed to steal votes back from Obama to claim the nomination in this election, then this is just a "beauty contest" vote. I have no problem with that, but thought it could be made to mean something more, and get more folks from Obama's side to feel more warm to Ms. Clinton. I certainly would if she were to do this.

Now, even IF she were somehow able to steal all of those votes and get the nomination, don't you think that would be a disaster in terms of winning the actual election? McCain would just have to say simply that the Democratic Party doesn't believe in "democratic rule" in picking their candidate, and the Dems would probably lose in a landslide. Would you be "happy" then?

The poor womann dies and you turn it into some half-assed Hillary slam.

This is the lowest thing I've ever seen on DU, and that's saying a lot.

4. No, I don't want it that way at all!

I honestly believe that if we took the time to honor Ms. Tubbs Jones this way, it would help us honor her, and help us heal the party. Sometimes moments of pain are also the greatest opportunities for healing too. Please don't take my post the wrong way.

I don't mean this as a slam to Hillary either. I really feel that she could earn a lot more respect than just having a roll call vote if something like this were done. I think honoring Ms. Tubbs this way would be something that both Obama and Hillary's supporters with compassion should be able to support. It might even make some Obama supporters who cast their votes to give Obama the win a little envious for not being able to join with their hearts to vote for Ms. Tubbs Jones.

From everything I've seen of Ms. tubb Jones, she seems to have been the decent sort of moo.....er, democrat....the sort that most of us would sit down and have a beer with.  Then again, I didn't have a problem with Paul Wellstone either.

What are the odds that Ms. Tubb Jones funeral will be Wellstoned by the Democrats?

Woowoowoo PHeewings, nuttin but PHeewings.   :mental:
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

I just came from the kitchen with a full roll of Reynold's but........

Does anyone else find it of low correlation that both high profile PUMAs, Feinstein gets her leg broke and Tubb's dies within a matter of a few days without some huma..Soro.....Obam...chicago interference?  Just a few days before the donky convention.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Stephanie Tubbs Jones was an Aunt by marriage to of one of my co-wokers.

He says "Steph was great to sit down and chat/have a beer with" and he is a staunch conservative on every issue I have ever spoken to him about.

Needless to say his wife is a bit distraught as she was pretty close to her aunt.

I never heard of her before today and I have no idea how far left she may have been, nor do I care now that she has passed on.
