Caution: I disremember the exact details, but the last time Brother Lamond posted something like this, when someone here went to the link, he saw the story was as old as the hills, dating from maybe when Franklin Roosevelt was an infant.  I'm not saying that's the case here, but one's advised always to check the antecedents of Lamond's posts.

Grocery Store Cashier Shames Woman on WIC, Won’t Allow Customer to Help Pay: ‘They Keep Getting Handouts’

A woman at an Albertsons store in Gresham, Ore., attempted to help out a fellow shopper when she came up short at the register. But according to Jacki Carroll, a white woman, the cashier refused to let her help the African-American woman who was using WIC (federal food stamp benefits specifically earmarked for women, infants and children) to pay for her items, and said the cashier made some pretty racist comments in the process.

“(I) said, ‘I will pay,’ and she said, ‘No!’ very abruptly,” Carroll said in an interview with KATU-TV. “Literally, she raised her voice and said, ‘No, you don’t need to do that.’”

Carroll was only offering to pay the $12 the unidentified woman was short, but she said that the cashier, identified only as Debbie, went classist and racist at the same time.

“I go, ‘Well, I don’t mind; just let her have her stuff,’” Carroll said she told the white female cashier, who then responded, “‘No! You’re not going to do that. She has WIC. She gets her free stuff.’”

Eventually the woman left the grocery store with only the items she could afford, and when Carroll continued her conversation with the cashier, she wouldn’t let up on her stank racist attitude.

“‘That’s why they have babies, so they can keep on getting all of the free stuff,’” Carroll said the cashier told her.

I wish it were only Progs who got taken in by click-bait-grade false memes and stories. I've pointed out three times in the past week that the meme that Valerie Jarrett claimed to be Iranian and a Muslim is false. There're bunches of agenda- and mischief-driven trolls out there exploiting people's confirmation bias for their "cause" or amusement.

You know a movement is in trouble when you have these "Heads I win, tails you lose" type viewpoints.  It's not enough to ignore it or deal with it one's own way, you MUST see it their way and you MUST atone for it they way they prescribe. Anything less than that proves to them you are what they say you are.

Total BS! There are no major Asian or Asian-owned companies operating in the US? With a mix of "white" and non-"white" employees? What kind of ignorance is that?! Rush even does radio ads for an Asian company! More personally, I've worked for a Taiwanese company and for a company founded by an immigrant from Taiwan, both of which had more Asian than "white" employees in the buildings in which I worked. I didn't feel any more "stressed" on the streets of Taipei than I did on the streets of Augsburg, Germany. At my previous employer I'd be as likely to hear people conversing in Korean, Cantonese, or Tagalog as in English. I'm hoping to attend my daughter's graduation in China (she's studying Chinese language and culture, so I'd have a great translator!).

I didn't and don't find those environments stressful because I'm a normal human being among normal human beings, not because of some racists' imaginary "White Privilege". Progs' obtuseness and ignorance still amaze me, sometimes.

This could also be viewed as a story of a white person going out of her way to help

The white woman, Amanda, said her mother offered to pay for the groceries of the black woman who was $12 short.

The cashier rudely prevented the person from doing so, and made some nasty comments. Amanda indicated that she was not sure if the insults from the cashier were racist, or classist, or both (the cashier's comments did not include any racial slurs or epithets according the the FB post).

Then the white woman made a point of posting her experience on Facebook and to call out the cashier and the store for this egregious behavior.

She closes her FB post with:

"This isn’t right! Please help me share this. Let’s try to make a meaningful change. Thank you guys."

As a result of posting her story, this white person has been subject to online harassment and threats against her children.

It seems like she deserves some kudos for her actions.

If there were threats against her children... that was uncalled for... that's a big IF though.


As to the online harassment, that should be expected when you make shit up.

A high school teacher in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. has been removed from the classroom pending an investigation into disparaging remarks he made to a Haitian student, in which he referred to the teen’s native home as “some third-world island country.”

Haiti is actually a third world shit hole, I wouldn't even rate it as a country.
