Someone's perception of "gòod", is fubar.
The SoCalDem now lives north of California, although when I first met her ten, eleven, twelve years ago, she lived in southern California.
In her late 60s now, her husband had a well-paying manual labor job--I'm not putting down manual labor (I've done a lot of it myself with no shame), but just to point out it wasn't any minimum-wage job--and of their three sons, now in their forties, only one, or none, of them completed high school, although all three of them ended up being gainfully employed--again, like the old man, in well-paying manual labor jobs.
The SoCalDem primitive is matronly stout, and never worked outside the home after she got married. At least while she was living south of where she lives now, her social life consisted of bowling with the "girls" twice a week. She goes to the hairdresser often, and bleaches her hair.
It's really a good idea to get to know the primitives behind the primitive comments, the actual personality saying the words.
