About free republic

I go there once in awhile to observe how truly ugly that side of America can be, and why I need to keep resisting. I usually end up regretting it because it seems hopeless to think they can be reached.

Since Russia installed Trump as Prez, I've noticed an increase in religious postings. Today, of the first 25 posts, 5 are of a religious nature. Of course, none of them are critical of Trump.

How is it that religion always finds its way into the bed of the most reprehensible humans on Earth?

Only thing i see is ugly are DUmmies.

The primitive obviously doesn't pay much attention to where he's hanging out.

But I guess people who live in shit don't know it's shit.

1 I tried posting there once. It wasn't in this century. It's just DUmb to imagine that FR - or any other single majority conservative discussion site - encapsulates the full range of conservatives' ideas.

2 That Cartoonist views conservatives as needing to be reached expresses the contempt that blinds Cartoonist.

3 News/politics sites tend to discuss current news. I guess it's hard for Cartoonist to let this awareness creep into whatever surrogate of a mind (s)he has, but religious conservatives probably approve of much that Trump has done and is doing as President, and regard the whole Stormy thing as probably false.

The was a Twilight Zone episode where ugly people were good looking and the hot woman was considered ugly. To the DUmmies, anything that is not part of the collective is to considered wrong and ugly. It helps justify their constant hate too.

Why should Christians be expected to criticize Trump? We have acknowledged his moral failings and vices as being bad, but he has done more for Christians than any President has in a long time. He is anti-infanticide and he does more than just pay lip-service to Freedom of Religion.

All Christians (and everyone else for that matter) are sinners just like Trump. We all have different sets of sins but we all sin. I am certainly glad that most people judge me as harshly as I judge myself. Like most, I am a hypocrite and sometimes my words don't align with my behavior. That doesn't make what I say wrong nor what I do right. When each is judged in context and intent my right or wrongness will be self-evident.

This, I believe, is how most Christians judge Trump.

Reminds me of the saying "Are you smelling what you're shoveling"?
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
