Beartracks (7,441 posts) Sun Apr 29, 2018, 06:24 PMToilet seat with wider ring?We recently got an ADA height toilet, elongated. It came with a soft-close seat where the lid sort of drops over the edges of the seat ring (the donut part that you sit on) so that it conceals it for a cleaner look. Because the lid requires a bit of space to drop over the seat edge like that, the seat ring itself is a little bit narrower than it would otherwise be, only about 3 inches wide under the broadest part of your thigh, and getting even narrower towards the front of the seat. And most of that 3 inches curves away downward from your leg, so your weight's supported by even less of that width. We're looking for something a little wider/flatter that can offer more support -- or maybe just softer? -- but without sacrificing the other features of the seat.

Not entirely sure this is what you are looking for...but the elderly mom we cared for appreciated the "big john toilet seat" we got off of Amazon... https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1/144-4040009-5862516?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=big+john+toilet+seat

Most of the DUmmies are only potty trained to know if you have a seat that pinched pecker, your truck tires are too big.
