I've been trying to think of possible solutions that could allow local businesses to somehow compete with Amazon in terms of price and service. That would be ideal, but I have not been able to come up with a sustainable business model that would facilitate this competition.
Economies of scale notwithstanding even IF your local businesses could compete you would not get that entire list of benefits: centralized order tracking, ease of finding and ordering, quick returns, etc. etc. etc.
Bottom line: if you really cared about local businesses and Amazon's employment practices you would ONLY use local businesses. In the clash between convenience and morality, morality LOSES in the progressive world!
DUmmies are so funny when they try to virtue signal when telling the truth they are self-centered tightwads just like everyone else (see "I hate paying taxes" thread Frank started).
