39. Besides owing taxes, we got a super duper IRS surprise.
A couple of weeks ago we got a notice telling us we owed $9,000+ on our 2016 taxes for under reporting income. They based it on a 1099 form they said was for $46,500. The actual form says $4,650. Big difference. I rushed off a letter with a copy of said form and still haven't heard anything. The icing on the cake is our quarterly taxes are going UP for 2018. Thanks, Don.
The vindictive primitive, a nasty older middle-aged woman in Vermont, has been raking in the bucks for years, decades, re-selling stuff she finds at garage sales, rummage sales, yard sales, auctions. She expects to pay Dollar General prices for Nieman-Marcus goods, and expects to get Nieman-Marcus prices for Dollar General goods she re-sells. "You've got to be sharp; you've got to cheat the other guy before he cheats you."
I'm not saying she's cheated on reporting her income for tax purposes, but that's, I guess, a possibility.
