There's just something about Good Friday.

Born and raised in the Great Lakes region, I remember having Good Friday off at (public) school, college and everywhere I worked. So even now, in my "enlightened" years as agnostic Californian, it feels so strange, even offensive, to be working tomorrow I guess there are some things that never leave you.

An agnostic californian dip shit is more like it.

Musically, it is the best day of the Trituum in Roman Catholic churches. :whistling:

This is the day the Lord wiped clean the slate for those who want him to. That is a bit more important than a day off work.

Also, agnostic means 'no knowledge' so how can one be enlightened by the absence of knowledge?

In Silicon Valley the number of companies that have Good Friday as a holiday are few, if any. Of the two I worked for that did, one got gobbled up by Rockwell, which eventually shut down the division. The other was a division of a larger company that last year shuttered the facility and split the production between PA and SoCal.

Handel's Messiah was originally for Easter even though it is now played at Christmas.   My favorite religious song of all time. I seem to recall that Frank likes it as well.

Agree, love it.

As for Randy, he's just looking for a day off.

I've suggested, in discussions within my church's music department, that we should sing the Halleluia Chorus as the prelude on Easter morning.  It's a tough piece to sing.  No one wants to take my suggestion up. :whistling:

Looks like everyone here already hit the major points.  To a DUmpass, it's all about a free day off, with pay.  To them, it's nothing more, nothing less.

I'm not sure what's so magical about that.
