Do I detect a hint of resigned despair in the posts by "kysrsoze" and BigPig?
Traditionally, Presidents, plus or minus an Obama, consulted Senators from the states where the judges presided for recommendations. Given the hostility between many of the Senators in the states in the 9th Circuit and Trump's tendency to go outside of tradition I have a feeling he may decline to consult those Senators (unless to learn of people he should avoid like plague). Given Trump's other judge nominations to date - hated to a man and woman by DU-folk - Trump could change the complexion of the 9th Circus Court some, and Reinhardt wasn't the only judge on the appeals and district courts who's really long in the tooth.
One can hope.
