Four years ago I lost my foot to staff. I have moved forward with one foot less doing all the things I want to do for the most part. Today's prosthetics are almost miraculous. I play golf as good as I did with two good feet. As I said earlier. Today I feel as good as I ever have. I feel as strong as I ever have for my age. No aches. No Pains. No joint problems. However, just because you feel good it does not mean you are doing as good as you think. Yes at 74 there are some health issues that have been mostly manageable. But this new issue has been so totally out of the blue. And it is as potentially bad as I have ever faced. I knew all along where the medical situation was going. Sometimes you hate to know or understand too much. I knew enough about my symptoms to see what the outcome would likely be. The Doctor confirmed my suspicions.Sometimes being ignorant has its own rewards. The saying, "Ignorance is bliss" has so much more meaning now.. I face a day surgery, but depending of some labs I will not know how serious the situation is. So go figure. Sadly many of us on DU are older and we all face our own issues that come from getting older. What is really sad is that we have to watch and witness a steady political deterioration that makes it harder to deal with your own stuff. If you have kids or grandkids understanding their prospects probably makes everything harder about being optimistic. No matter what we have to trudge on. What makes me so furious is how these old rich bastards like the Kochs, Addleson and their ilk live so long to do so much damage. They are already insanely rich. What the F do they have to gain by hoarding more wealth as they destroy lives and make people miserable. Why are so many evil GOPPERS so healthy and able? There is no justice in this world. It just isn't fair.

I Feel So Sad About Those Kids And The Evil They Face.I am 74 and thing of those kids who lost so many years of live because of the NRA. Honestly all that blood is on the NRA's hands and the GOP hands. Democrats in power would have done something years ago.

Now -----having said that I do not have any children, but I feel for people who do. In our lives we had a tough time making it economically. Yet we knew that we COULD make it with some luck and work. There were things in place that made our progress possible. It was not a guarantee, but there was light at the end of the tunnel. We knew that we could secure some level of security in retirement. That prospect has been taken away. Starting with Reagan the GOP and successive GOP presidents begins to close that tunnel. Now it is almost completely closed. I simply do not know how the younger generation will have resources in the GOP created gauntlet economy. You and I both know what the landscape looks like going forward. In the large scheme of things my fate though important to me perhaps is inconsequential. We all fight on in our own ways.

And it does not seem fair when looking at all the crap that is going onwith school age kids now and my kids are part of that generation. Shooter drills, threats followed by lock downs , the pressures of over testing and less knowledge as they are taught primarily for the test , financial disparity and the planet they will inherit with disasters and shortages . What did they do to deserve it? Nothing ! But they will persevere I am certain although there are times I have to remind myself of that because it is a real pile on these days and it's hard to see positive and especially when what I can see is thier group stress It's also not fair that something comes out of nowhere when you are feeling fine and hanging in there going along only to be stopped by what right now has questions still to be answered. Take care TMN and best of outcome. Peace during times of uncertainty to you I personally could care less about the assholes whether they live or die but they are intruding on the common folks lives with the greed and manipulation. I hope we all are around to watch them fade from public influence one way or another doesn't matter how.

Not one iota of it has been rolled back -- the mandate won't end until next year.So how is it possible he has not gotten the best care on the planet? I LOVED this:MORON ALERT!!! The Democrats HAD EVERYTHING in Billy Jeff Clinton's first term (1992-1994) and in MAObama's (2008-2010): so what happened, Dude?!
Actually, Democrats DID do something in WJC's first term. They passed the, as per current Washington guidelines, misnamed AWB. Then promptly lost both houses of Congress for the first time in 40 years...Someone needs to remind the GOP of this, so they stay the hell away from that kind of legislation.
We need more details than this. Was it the staff at the hospital or was it a staff at an office building somewhere? If it was medical, what kind of doctors are they growing out in Denver that would do such? Did he lose his foot in a low stakes poker game? What happened?
