The MSM are carefully editing that sound bite, in particular the very next sentence in which Trump states that he believes most in his audience would too. IOW, the MSM is lying by omission. Unsurprisingly.

Since there is no law requiring presidential candidates to release their tax returns...

Trump's tax returns belong to TRUMP, he doesn't want to release them, isn't required to release them, and whatever is in them is N.Y.D.B....
