Just a reminder... both GWB and DJT lost the popular vote.
Perhaps this means...
1) Maybe our country is not as ****ed up as we think
2) Maybe a top priority should be to change the electoral college system before we leave this place an empty stone.
You know that saying... three strikes and you're out.
Oh, I love these arguments. DUmmies, the electoral college is there so the rest of us have representation. Let's play a game. The queers lost the popular vote even in places like CA. You didn't seem to like that because they weren't represented. So you had the SCOTUS overrule everything pertaining to less than 10% of the population.
Well, guess what, we like to be represented too. Your big city problems are not the problems all across this great country. The electoral college was designed just for that reason, to protect me from your ... authoritarianism. I kind of like it that way.
You want to win elections, find someone who represents all of us, not just LA, Chicago, and NYC.

3. I don't think the founding fathers
ever envisioned a union of states where
a) people and commerce were as mobile as they are today
(meaning the federal government is much more important today than in the late 1700s).
and
b) There would be such a disparity in the states like California and Wyoming (both in population and economic importance).
Time to rethink the electoral college AND the representation in the Senate (and even the House).
Wrong. These are EXACTLY the reasons we have it and need it. Educate yourself, it's not a bad thing and you won't look so stupid. The founders were absolutely genius in the way they set up our government, we've let it get away from what it should be for far too long.
