John Conyers (D-Michigan) is “entitled to due process” in the wake of recently revealed sexual harassment allegations. “We are strengthened by due process,” Pelosi said on Meet the Press. “Just because someone is accused – and was it one accusation? Is it two?” Conyers, who has served in Congress since the 1960s, has been embattled since a BuzzFeed report this week. It revealed that in 2015, he reached a taxpayer-funded settlement in a female staffer’s sexual harassment claim. The alleged victim said he fired her because she turned down his sexual advances. He denied wrongdoing when news of the settlement popped up. “My office resolved the allegations — with an express denial of liability — in order to save all involved from the rigors of protracted litigation,” he said in a statement. “That should not be lost in the narrative.”Read more: https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/nancy-pelosi-says-john-conyers-entitled-to-due-process-in-sexual-misconduct-allegations/
Michigan Rep. John Conyers, a Democrat and the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives, settled a wrongful dismissal complaint in 2015 with a former employee who alleged she was fired because she would not “succumb to [his] sexual advances.”Documents from the complaint obtained by BuzzFeed News include four signed affidavits, three of which are notarized, from former staff members who allege that Conyers, the ranking Democrat on the powerful House Judiciary Committee, repeatedly made sexual advances to female staff that included requests for sex acts, contacting and transporting other women with whom they believed Conyers was having affairs, caressing their hands sexually, and rubbing their legs and backs in public. Four people involved with the case verified the documents are authentic.

If she said anything else like, for instance, he must resign now before due process, the Blackcommunity will see that as railroading a strong Black icon in the House, and the Democratic Party will suffer in 2018--just like the Republicans hope and pray would be the case (in addition to getting the spotlight off their pedo-candidate in AL). Unless and until there's hard evidence, Dems need to slow down with booting Democrats out. In the case of Weiner, it was justified, but we must remember, we DID lose that seat to a Republican. We can't afford to lose more if we want to stop tRUmp's disastrous warpath and tax cuts for the rich to the detriment of working Americans.
This stuff is simply too much fun to watch. Talk about chickens coming home to roost!! KC
