but the lack of a background (or rather the presence of some shadows) would tend to indicate a stock pecan pie image.

The sleuths at democrat underground have solved the Al Franken groping case and have moved on to the next mystery investigation.

3. It looks like the kind you pick up in the frozen section at the grocery store.

Note that it's in one of those aluminum pie pans. Not even pyrex or something ceramic that looks like it belongs on "the family farm"

Aluminum pie pans on a family farm.  That's preposterous.  How did Sarah expect to get away with such an obvious fake?

And I've bought aluminum pie tins.

Didn't bake pies in them. Used them in an induction demonstration lab. Made an electrophorus.

Aluminum pie tins, chickenwire, and cinder blocks are all readily available at the DU physics demonstration store.

I brought it to dinner and didn’t want to take a plate home. I don’t know whether she made pie herself or not, but the pan doesn’t prove she didn’t make her own crust.

She photo shopped the pie, if you look real closely at the arrangement of the pecans you will see a secret message coded there.

As I posted on CU:

First, and least important, if you want to Himalayanize a molehill you need to start with a molehill. The level of pettiness wrt Trump people is miles off the charts.

Second, I occasionally take pictures of things I want to remember. I always pay attention to lighting and make sure I have a neutral colored plain background. "Neutral" is defined by the darkness of the image. Something moderately dark, like a pecan pie, should have a white background.

Third, Twitchy had a thread on this that shows that the conspiracy theory comes from the url format used by Twitter for images - "PBS" is part of every such url. And as "lapfog_1" posted, the image is not on PBS' website.

Additionally, reusable aluminum pie tins are readily available. That DU-folk don't know this shows how DUmb they truly are. Also, there are enough irregularities in the grooves in the crust that those were not made by a commercial machine.

Not that facts matter on DU.
