I blew up at my gym today. I was not in a good place to begin with. Then while we were exercising, some people were talking. 1 There are some that are big talkers well we exercise and usually they just say harmless stuff and jokes. But sometimes they say political stuff. And today they did.
Someone said something that I didn't catch about the national anthem. Then some people were saying love it or leave it and I couldn't stop myself. 2 I said "I'd leave but some places won't take you when you're old. "
...
... I said so you're OK if somebody shoots up everybody they can see. 3 He seem like he was laughing and I wanted to smack him but luckily I didn't. I said How would youfeel if it was somebody in your family and then I said I've had it with this shit and left. 4 I don't know if I'll ever go back.
I talked to some people who I trust after I left. Regardless of whether I go or stay at that gym, I'm going to communicate with whoever runs the joint and tell them I go there to destress, not to get my blood pressure up. And that they are driving people off with this political shit. 5
6 Can anybody relate?
1 They talk while they exercise? Dang! Either it's not very vigorous or I need to be in as good a shape as they are!
2 Yeah, right. More likely you can't because those countries require having substantial $$ and being able to support yourself. IOW, your problem is that they have standards.
3 If he was laughing he was laughing at how well you fit stereotypes of libs & Progs.
4 Don't It'll improve their lives.
5 A snowflake's first response to things they don't want to hear or be heard: silence others. Go do a half hour on the recumbent stationary bike and re-read
Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Nobody will want to come within 10 feet of you. Or go for a walk on a park trail ... if we're lucky some clueless bicyclist will run you down.
6 What a stereotypical late 60s phrase!
