Do "fans" want players to be seen & not heard?

It's a start. We'll just have to see where it goes. :confused:

Trying to understand the NFL boos: Do "fans" want players to be seen & not heard?
My first thought when the Cowboys were booed and criticized for taking a knee while standing for the anthem was that the fans were racist. But then why are racists going to see mostly black NFL teams?

Kirsten Powers (CNN) raised a good point just now: if fans had even a tiny amount of respect for these players, wouldn't they be curious about how the players feel and what their views are? Instead, these so called fans want the players to STFU and entertain them. To be seen but not heard. Really, to even die for their entertainment (CTE).

1. I don't get it either. That is no way to support their teams.

It should sink in with these people that the owners and coaches are supporting the players. Why can't they?

18. From interviews I saw on local TV stations,

the people interviewed outside of Gillette after the game didn't comprehend what the kneeing was all about.

They had bought the Asshole's blithering about "lack of respect for the flag".

The denseness of many Americans is extremely discouraging.

4. I saw someone else write, that the players are supposed to be there to entertain the fans

The players are not supposed to do anything to ruin their enjoyment for those watching.

I LOVE that the deplorables second religion is being ruined for them. Waa! They live for football. For some, that might be the only little bit of enjoyment they have in their shitty little lives. Now it's ruined.

Basically, yes.  The fans don't actually give a hoot in hell about whatever stupid opinions the players have. On top of that, they don't appreciate their own meaningful expression being highjacked by those assholes to make their own special widdle statement.

Same with people in the entertainment industry: "Shut up and sing!!"

I don't even watch late night TV anymore. At least Johnny Carson knew how to make fun of politics without being partisan. Same with Bob Hope and all the greats. All the ones who have late night shows now haven't a clue how to do that. They're so stupid they can't even begin to imagine how.

Entertainers, and especially the Hollywood left, need to keep their opinions to themselves.

    My first thought when the Cowboys were booed and criticized for taking a knee while standing for the anthem was that the fans were racist. But then why are racists going to see mostly black NFL teams?Because when they are wearing their helmets they don't look black.

    Kirsten Powers (CNN) raised a good point just now: if fans had even a tiny amount of respect for these players, wouldn't they be curious about how the players feel and what their views are? The fans know that the players are dumb as a stump and really don't care about their politics.Instead, these so called fans want the players to STFU and entertain them. To be seen but not heard. Really, to even die for their entertainment (CTE).Exactly, the fans are CUSTOMERS who PAID a lot of their hard earned $$$ to go watch a game, not to be disrespected by a bunch of over paid spoiled babies.

Ecstatic has it backwards - the question is now whether the fans respect the players, think, who is the customer in this equation?

You do not have to respect the wait staff - if you don't, you wouldn't be patronizing that restaurant - but the wait staff had better respect you or you will walk.

Of course not! Quarterbacks' signals need to be heard. :rimshot: Quarterbacks and other players would do well to focus on something they understand.

It's sports. It is supposed to be a diversion from what we consider our daily lives. They can have and share any opinion they want and I say 'good for them'. When they are on the field, however, they are being paid for their athletic skills and not the social opinions.

Contrary to what you imagine me to be, I will have no problem finding suitable entertainment - besides what you DU-folk provide. DU-folk, OTOH, seem to have found DU's shut-down rather stress-inducing ... like you had a hard time carrying on without your DU fix.

When I attend an NFL game at the stadium the entertainment that I pay dearly for starts when I walk thru the gate. I always look forward to the National Anthem and how it's sung, the flag and the flyover! I even like the vendors and their shtick. I always make friends with the beer vendors.  I don't want any distractions, I don't care how the players feel.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Well now maybe all the money that is pissed away on tickets, parking, crappy food and  memorabilia can be spent on guns and ammo. Instead of sitting on your couch you can go to the range and get some exercise and fresh air. shooting.

BAM...right on the head.

I can't watch tv, go to movies, or even listen to music without someone attacking my point of view or my beliefs. Sports, in particular football was a chance for just a few hours a week for a few ****ing months to get away from that. But no, the left couldn't let that happen.

To paraphrase lib speak, the things that take place in and around the stadiums are actually a perfect example of "trickle down economics".  But DUmmies and libs deny that money trickles down.  Baseball stadium vendors, parking attendants, etc. make a good amount of $$$ over an 81 game home season.  Without a worthless college degree in...pick your poisonous meaningless scrap of paper.

Chicago, Philadelphia and Detroit police should replace the sirens on the Police cars with speakers that play the National Anthem.  That way the usual suspect will stop running  and take a knee.

Some dots for DU-folk to avoid connecting:

* The Ditzy Tricks denigrate President Bush and Americans, and their career went straight down the toilet;

* Hollyweird has made anti-US movie after anti-US movie after anti-US movie after ... and all have been financial disasters;

* NFL ticket sales are in a tumble.

DU-folk are yucking it up that "Deplorables" have lost their "religion", but reality is that we "Deplorables" are the ones refusing to spend our money on the Tricks, Hollyweird crapaganda, and now the spoiled BRAThletes crapping on what people who pay them love and value. DU-grade Progs ignore this to their political detriment.

Amen brother.  Most people turn on a ball game to get away from the everyday BS and relax.  Now you turn on the game and it's thrown back in your face.  If they really wanted to make a difference they would do something about inner city black on black crime.  Take some of those millions they make and clean up the cesspools of the big cities.
